Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles Concealer

I could have sworn that I had reviewed the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles Concealer but after a trawl through 4000+ posts apparently that is not the case. I have mentioned it here and there but never sat down and fully reviewed arguably one of the best concealers on the high street.

Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles Concealer is different from many concealers out there for numerous reasons - the most obvious being the packaging. There is no doe foot applicator nor is it a creamy bullet shaped concealer, rather you have a large sponge/foam applicator in which you can swipe or dab on the liquid. It does seem odd and my initial worry was eww won't the foam breed all sorts of bacteria? Apparently not, the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles Concealer is said to be antibacterial and somewhat self cleaning.

Within the UK there are two shades of the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles Concealer to choose from which in my opinion is not enough. There is Nude and Light - Nude is slightly more pink toned and Light is yellow based. Yet in the US I'm almost certain I counted at least five shades? If you don't have a light to medium complexion essentially in the UK this concealer is out of reach. The other problem with the shades is that they don't differ all that much - I can use either which is not something I can say for many other concealer shade ranges. If in the US I do stock up on the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles Concealer in Neutraliser as it is really yellow based and great for highlighting in the UK I tend to favour Light.

Shade bashing aside this really is a great concealer - the light, fine and loose liquid texture is not only a dream to blend into the skin but it really does cover dark circles. It is one of the few concealers I have tried that does not settle into fine lines nor does it crease or cause my eyes to water (I'm not sure if that is a common problem with anyone else?). The Maybelline Instant Anti-age Eraser Eye does all it says on the tin - erases dark circles, helps with any puffiness of the area and oddly blurs fine lines instantly. A quick glimpse at the packaging and apparently Maybelline dub this to be a concealer and treatment in one, it contains Haloxyl which brightens the under eye area and of course can help diminish the appearance of fine lines. Basically if you want a brighter, smoother under eye area without the need for several products this is the one for you. I should also mention that along with offering a great coverage level this wears beautifully for a good eight or so hours - longer if you set with powder. Basically for change of a tenner you will be hard pushed to find a better concealer.
