First of all I apologise as the product I am about to share is in-fact from Sephora but as they now deliver to the UK I'm hoping most of you will let me off the hook? Sephora own brand make-up is nothing short of wonderful, the problem is that it often goes unnoticed in such a Mecca of cosmetics. Should you ever visit a Sephora I urge you to dedicate a good ten minutes at their own stand as not only is everything so well priced but the quality is insane. If you are looking for a long lasting lipstick may I push you in the direction of Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors. If ever a lipstick was indestructible it was this.
Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors are of course liquid lipsticks which come in smallish tubes complete with a flat doe foot applicator. I may not be the biggest fan of such applicator style but the shape really hugs the lips allowing you to both line and fill with ease. The foam also holds on to the liquid meaning you are less likely to make a mess or use too much product. In a nutshell no complaints from me.
Online there are 12 shades to choose from, foolishly I only bought one which is Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color in Petal. In my opinion Petal is a cool toned, lilac tinged pink - not worlds apart from MAC Angel Lipstick and yet on the lips it becomes a deeper shade of pink. I believe this happens as the Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors have a certain staining quality. My advice (if in store of course) is to swatch the shades you like the look of onto your hand, allow to fully dry for ten minutes or so and then decide. As a rule (my sister bought two other shades) it seems to be each Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors applies one shade deeper than it appears in liquid form.
Forget what you know to be true about liquid lipsticks as the Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors pretty much shatter that rule. They are non-drying, I wouldn't go as far as saying that they are moisturising but they certainly do not encourage the lips to dry out. They are beyond comfortable - no annoying crumbling, smudging or smearing. Okay they take a few minutes to dry which can be slightly aggravating but trust me it is worth the wait. Once set the Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors stay in place for at least four hours without as much as fading and that is with eating, drinking and chatting. Now the matte aspect doesn't quite come across in the above images but once dry the overall finish is quite a flat, matte effect. You'll either love or loathe it but on the plus side it does give the appearance of larger lips. Basically the Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors are the king of liquid lipsticks and if you can get your mitts on one (or a few ha!) I highly suggest you do.
Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors $16 (approx £10.22) via Sephora - link.
I agree it doesn't budge, I have the same colour as you it's just beautifully muted in tone.

I'm so excited Sephora is finally coming to Australia and I will be able to pick some of these up! I've seen the brighter colours talked about everywhere but never a more neutral shade, so thank you for that. A great post!
