Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

Like most my skin is pretty fickle at times and what I think of certain products after a week or two of use isn't always my final thoughts. With that in mind as far as skin care is involved I am going to post my initial thoughts after a week of trial and then update with a more in-depth review once I have finished the product or after three months of use - which ever happens to be the soonest. With that in mind let me share my thoughts on Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm.

"Lightweight cleansing balm quickly dissolves stubborn eye and face make-ups, including those with sunscreen. Transforms from a solid balm to a silky, fluid oil upon application. Cleans thoroughly, rinses off completely. Non-greasy. Non-drying. For all skin types."

So far what I like: It is unscented so if you have sensitised skin it will not irritate, also great if you simply don't like scented products. It really is a gentle cleanser yet effective, it removes all my make-up with ease, leaves my skin feeling super soft and hydrated. I also rather enjoy the fact that it is safe to use on the eye area and removes mascara with ease. On the skin Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm does turn into a light silky oil, the good news is that it is easily removed which isn't always the case with balm/oil cleansers in my opinion. If you have dry skin or want something a little more nourishing for the Winter months I would deem Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm to be a great purchase - gentle on the skin, deeply cleansing and oddly hydrating. I'd say this is suitable for all skin types and ages.

So far what I don't like: The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm has a really firm texture making it quite difficult to scoop up the product, I find due to the texture I sometimes chip off (for lack of a better term) more product than I actually need. In terms of consistency this is very similar to The Body Shop's Chamomile Balm Cleanser, on the plus side it is far less greasier and so far has been kinder on my skin. If an overly firm texture is all I have to gripe about come the final review I will be more than happy!
