I have no shame in admitting that I was and still am a little fearful of the word peel, it sounds harsh and indicates that if you aren't careful something could go wrong. Very wrong. Or it could just be that I am a worrier with an over active imagination. Either or really. At the beginning of December I decided to suck it up and tried my first at home peel product B.Revealed Glycolic Cleansing Peel and was suitably impressed. So much so that I have been fairly loyal to it, saw some impressive results and would actually recommend it and here is why...
B.Revealed Glycolic Cleansing Peel is a fairly new launch for Superdrug's in-house brand B., I'm pretty sure it only launched in late September? The idea is that this light creamy textured cleansing peel which contains Glycolic Acid sloughs off dead skin cells leaving behind a softer, fresher and brighter complexion with fine lines less visible. Yes it does contain Glycolic Acid and if like myself you have either dehydrated or oily skin this is the peel for you, more so my fellow oilies. Why? Well oily skin normally results in blemishes and/or blackheads and trapped pores, yes? Well this gentle peel targets all of those issues thanks to Glycolic Acid. I'm no skin care expert but what I do know is that Glycolic Acid is an exfoliator, it safely buffs away the outer layer of dead skin cells on the surface your skin, revealing a fresh surface without being harsh on the skin. Glycolic acid can also help lighten discolouration of the skin, such as sun spots or age spots and help those with acne-prone and blackhead-prone skin. Dry complexions will benefit from the removal of dry patches without the need of a harsh scrub or further drying.
I've spoke about it before, my skin is all over the place thanks to a hormonal imbalance with I am currently attempting to manage. Said imbalance has resulted in dehydrated skin, blemishes and blackheads - just what a girl wants. However I do have to say that B.Revealed Glycolic Cleansing Peel has helped endlessly, my skin looks brighter and is softer, it gently looses blackheads, any blemishes I may have now don't scar and oddly the rough texture on my forehead thanks to Milia is gradually disappearing. Yes this is gentle enough to use daily but I find I get the best results when I only reach for it 2-3 times a week, that way my skin is deep cleansed and polished without leaning on the product too heavily. I must stress that as this contains Glycolic Acid you do have to partner this with a good and high SPF as you skin will become more sensitive to the sun - yes it is Winter but UVA/UVB rays are still present and you do not want to damage or age your skin!
If you have oily or dry skin and want a quick and gentle solution, I recommend giving B.Revealed Glycolic Cleansing Peel a whirl.
B.Revealed Glycolic Cleansing Peel currently £3.97 (usually £7.99) via Superdrug - link.

Peels always freak me out slightly, but I love how my skin looks and feels after. I'd love to give this one a try.

I'm still afraid of "peels", I also don't want to make my skin more sun sensitive and have to slap on SPF constantly or even more so than I normally would. I'd rather my skin had a few more dead cells on it and be a bit tougher against the sun. Having said this though, I am intrigued haha! I'd like to start off with something less potent like the treatment pads maybe... Not sure... x
ReplyDeleteThis looks worth a try at such a good price!
