Hi I am Adrienne and I am a candle addict - no seriously it is a problem, I have a candle cupboard. I mean what the eff Jeff? One thing I do get a lot of comments or emails concerning is options for those who have kids, pets or live in accommodation that doesn't allow candles. Well I have an answer of sorts, they aren't the easiest to get hold of but if you don't mind shopping via eBay or Amazon then the Yankee Candle Fragrance Spheres could just be what you are looking for?
Essentially the Yankee Candle Fragrance Spheres are glorified air fresheners which is not something I thought I'd ever blog about and yet here we are. I have read a few posts in regards to the Yankee Candle Fragrance Spheres and the main problem that seems to be flagged is that they do not scent a room quite in the same vain as a candle would. I get that this could be a disappoint for some but in all honesty this is not really the concept or intended use for the Yankee Candle Fragrance Spheres.
You see Yankee Candle Fragrance Spheres have been created to gently fragrance a room which they do using gel beads full of liquid but the may intention is that they are odour neutralisers and have been created for rooms such as the bathroom, kitchen and laundry room. Places you want to smell fresh but in a gentle way. The gel beads trap any offending odours and coupled with the traditional Yankee fragrances they keep smaller spaces smelling great - in a larger room the scent is somewhat lost but the odour technology does still appear to be in place. Clever and as the Yankee Candle Fragrance Spheres are fairly small in size - about the size of a small Yankee Jar Candle they are easy to slot into just about any room. Yankee state that each Yankee Candle Fragrance Spheres jar/tub should last up to 45 days - we are on day 12 and I will state that the scent is less obvious as I pass it but it seems to be trapping any kitchen scents rather nicely.
As mentioned above the Yankee Candle Fragrance Spheres do come in "traditional" Yankee Candle scents - I have Macintosh (red apple and true to life), Black Coconut (coconut-ty yet almost masculine), Clean Cotton (fresh, like fabric softener) and Pineapple Cilantro (again fresh, green and fruity). I basically bought my scents based on fragrances on existing tarts and candles in my house so I could increase the scent intensity if that at all makes sense?
Basically a really cool idea and a product I hope that will make the cross over to the UK very soon.
Until then you can find them via eBay - link for less than £10.
I saw these when I was in the US a couple of weeks ago and was like 'what on earth are these?' Hehe.
ReplyDeleteI kinda wish that I'd picked a couple up to give them a try for myself now! :)

OOoooOooooh, these are weird! I love it, lol :-)
ReplyDeleteI have the fragrance spheres in Pink Sands and I was disappointed with how little it smelt like the candle scent :( Much more artificial - like inhaling pure chemicals. I think I prefer reed diffusers!

These are a really cool idea, I wish I'd known about them last year when I was in student accommodation. Luckily in my new flat I'm allowed candles so I've gone candle crazy!x

The idea is pretty awesome but there's something about the flickering candle light that's so relaxing. These seem perfect for the bathroom though, the safe candle! <3

I really like the sound of these, as sometimes I just don't want to light a Yankee Candle, plus this would be great for in my car to keep it smelling yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank God for eBay! :D

Do the spheres completely disappear as I have one in bathroom which my mom in law from USA gave me. I agree in that scent isn't strong as you walk into room, I can't smell anything, only when you're very close but I do think it does the job & eats odour. I think because it's mild our nose may not recognise scent straight away as we are use to our own house/space smell.
