Apologies that this is another lip balm post - as mentioned in a post today I am having some tech issues and rather than post a random test post I thought I'd post a review. That way I can see if my blog is working as it should be and share my thoughts on a fairly new product...working through the frustrations and all that!
Anyway recently EOS launched two new lip balms which promise to be more hydrating and softer than the brands original formula. As someone who doesn't always get on with EOS balms but do like that they don't contain petroleum, parabens and are gluten free (gluten doesn't bother me but I thought I'd mention it none the less). My main problem with EOS balms is that they are very firm and waxy and more often than not they don't agree with my lips or skin. I have tried just about every EOS balm out there and after a few uses my lips are cracked and flaky - the opposite effect you hope to achieve from a lip balm surely? The only exception is the EOS Medicated Lip Balm in Tangerine which stinks. I'm talking burning rubber scent. Yuck!
The new EOS visibly soft lip balms not only claim to absorb quickly and deeply into the lips skin layers using a combination of natural conditioning oils: moisturising Shea butter as well as vitamins C and E to renew and plump. It all sounds great on paper but is there really a difference? In a word yes. I find the EOS Visibly Soft Lip Balms to glide on to the lips, no tugging or waxy film - they instantly moisturise and most importantly leave my lips feel soft and flake free. Oh and oddly they have yet to cause any sort or reaction which leads me to believe either the ingredients are slightly different or I have outgrown the allergy but as I am in my twenties that is less than likely. Damn I'm getting old.
A quick note on the two new scents: Coconut Milk - a light and milky coconut fragrance which is very apt and Vanilla Mint - all you smell is the mint, no vanilla!
You can find the EOS Visibly Soft Lip Balms as a duo via Amazon for £12.45 - link.
I really want to try the coconut milk one! I agree though that they don't really hydrate lips, especially in winter. I still can't resist buying them though!
ReplyDeleteI love the packaging of EOS lip balms! I've never tried any but these seem like a better option than the normal ones, will definitely get these instead of those! xx

I personally love EOS lip balms and can't wait to try these! I want to get mint one, hehe. And I've found that I have to "break" them first - first few millimeters are very hard indeed, but it gets softer. :)

I definitely agree with you on the original EOS lip balms! They feel waxy and like they haven't moisturised my lips at all. I'd be interested to try these new ones though if they promise more moisturisation. The packaging is so cute too!

I've never bothered about EOS lip balms but the coconut milk one sounds rather nice. I'm not entirely sure I'd be willing to pay so much for a lip balm though.

Ooooh, so cute, but too expensive!
ReplyDeleteI really want to try these to see if I can understand the hype!

I love your blog so so much! I really enjoy reading your posts- just letting you know that you inspire me :) x
ReplyDeleteThese do sound much improved on the older versions. Something else that personally bugs me about the EOS lip balms is that although the shape is pretty and unique, once that dome has worn down they are really difficult to apply and usually at least half the product gets wasted! Still, I'm a sucker for the packaging and the Coconut Milk one in particular sounds dreamy.
