Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue Lip Balms Review

I'm not the biggest fan of Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms and have openly stated a good few times.
Yeah they are pretty eye catching in their bright packaging and the fruity scents do make them some what appealing but when you really get down to it the balm is mediocre. It doesn't heal the lips nor is it all that moisturising and since the Baby Lips Balms cost more than Carmex or Blistex it is pretty easy to see why I don't have one in every pocket. However the yet to reach the UK Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue Lip Balms are something else...

"Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Medicated Lip Balm provides care that soothes sore lips, with a hit of eucalyptus, and combats dryness. Available in natural tints to even out lip tone for healthier-looking lips. In 1 minute, lips feel soothed. In 1 day, lips look less dry. In 1 week, lips are reborn."

Basically the above blurb is true - well the lips being reborn is a little far fetched but hey that is the cosmetic industry for you! The Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue Lip Balms are medicated so they do heal and soothe chapped lips - on the lips they create a tingling sensation a lot like Carmex lip balm but with a much lighter texture which is altogether cooling. The light formula means it glides on to the lips with such ease and makes a great base for any other lip product you may want to apply on top. From the first use my lips did feel better - by that I mean less flaky and dare I say it hydrated. The scent of all the Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue Lip Balms is eucalyptus based which I rather like and find it fitting for the winter but if you aren't so keen I wouldn't worry too much as the fragrance doesn't linger around for any length of time.

The Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue Lip Balms do come in various tints - I purchased Too Cool which is the un-tinted version and the one I will stock up on next time I am in the US. The other which came I did receive in a value pack is Coral Crave - it is meant to deposit a light peachy pink tint to the lips. It doesn't. My sister purchased the entire line up and the only one that you can really see on the lips in terms of a tint is Soothing Sorbet and neither of us have pigmented lips. In all honesty that is the only downside of this lip balm range. In other words Maybelline please bring these to the UK/IRE soon our lips need them!

I need these! I love the original Baby Lips but you're 100% right, they're not really hydrating at all. However their Dr Rescue cousin sounds promising! :)

I honestly think the Babylips stink and taste awful. I either threw mine away after one try or gave it to my seven year old daughter....
