Happy Halloween everyone! I'll save my chit chat for another post and get straight on to what I have been enjoying for the month that was October...
October was the month in which I found two great budget skin care finds both of which I would urge all to try out. My go to cleanser is Tesco Pro Radiance Melting Gel Cleanser which is a pretty great dupe for Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel but costs less than £5! It quickly removes all my make-up (even eye-make-up), leaves my skin feeling soft, is easy to use and more importantly doesn't irritate my skin. You can find it on the Tesco website or of course pick it up next time you are in stocking up on groceries. If you are a fan of mud masks your next purchase should be Superdrug's Aloe Vera Mud Mask - it is gentle yet deeply cleansing, it helps to calm blemishes as well as re-balancing oily skin. At £2.59 it really is a bargain - find it here.
A few make-up favourites include Benefit The Big Easy Complexion Perfector which admittedly my skin doesn't always love. At the moment I find it creates a light, natural but matte canvas in which my pores look smaller and the creamy texture seems to agree with my currently de-hydrated skin. I think in a few weeks this may be a little too heavy for my skin type but at the moment I can't get enough. It is currently on sale (saving almost £10) on ASOS - link.
My go to mascara is Revlon Lash Potion Mascara By Grow Luscious, a mouthful yes and it did seem a little gimmicky but this is one of the few mascaras I swear by. As someone with often oily skin I find mascara can smudge rather quickly and easily - this does not flake never mind smudge! It doesn't clump despite my desire to apply four coats, it simply creates long, fluttery eyelashes with plenty of volume. I can't contest if it does or does not encourage eyelashes to grow but it is a brilliant all round mascara regardless. Find it here for £9.99 - link.
My lips are a mess as they are each Autumn/Winter - I am terrible for picking and biting them. So attractive huh? At the moment I have been relying heavily on Lanolips Lemonaide as it is such a great natural yet heavy duty lip balm - it soothes, moisturises and heals. What more could you ask for? Lipstick doesn't look all that wonderful on chapped lips (who knew?) so I have been reaching for my YSL Glossy Stains More Often than not - they are light, non-sticky yet add a hint of colour as well as being moisturising. Perfect for less than perfect lips! My go to shade at the moment is of course Pink Radiance, you can find the entire shade line up via Feel Unique here - link.
Other notable favourites include Burberry My Burberry EDP - a light, floral fragrance that has been based on the iconic Burberry Trench Coat and London rain. To try it is to love it. I have also been reaching for Herbal Essences Naked Dry Shampoo, it is light, refreshes my hair while soaking up excess oil and doesn't leave a white cast. I have learnt that the nozzle is prone to clogging so that may be worth bearing in mind? Lastly a quick shout out to Bath and Body Works Pumpkin Cupcake Hand Santizer - it kills germs on the hands and smells pretty much like Autumn in a bottle!
What have you been enjoying this month?
I always look forward to reading monthly favourites! The YSL glossy stain looks beautiful! x

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one picking my lips. Glad to read I'm not, but then I'm sorry you too have this annoying habit. I have a rotating combo of tons of products to make them heal fast, and stay smooth.. ish.
ReplyDeleteExited to try the Burberry fragrance! I've never like a Burberry scent, but this one sounds like a nice idea.
I love these posts of yours!:D

Revlon mascara sounds really lovely. I have never tried any Revlon mascaras before, always stick to my usual Maybelline and L'Oreal but might pick this up next to try. xx

I swear by Lanolips Lemonaid! My lips always feel great after using it. The Revlon mascara sounds great for me! I have issues with smudging due to oily skin; great recommendation :)
