Lush Halloween 2014 Reviews

I was kindly sent a selection of Lush Halloween products to test out and enjoy. I decided to take them with my on holiday to enjoy and that is exactly what I did. Normally with any limited edition collection there is a few products that dare I say it are duds, well I can honestly say this is not the case. Would I have liked to have seen a Lush Halloween shower gel and something pumpkin scented? You bet'cha but for now let me share what has just launched...

Lush Northern Lights Bath Bomb (new) £3.35 - A long almost wand like bar in the brightest of purples - you honestly can't help but feel a little excited when it comes to using this. I have been told it was created to mimic a fire work - a sparkler I am sure but I could be wrong. Once added to the water it whirls around in circles creating an almost tie dye effect that is visually stunning. It sizzles and pops due to the fizzing candy. This has been scented with the now infamous Lush Christmas Eve fragrance (Jasmine and Ylang-Ylang) so it is calming, relaxing and the perfect pre-bedtime treat despite the show of colours. If any scent needs to be made into a shower gel it is Lush Christmas Eve, am I right?

Lush Sparkler Bath Bomb (new) £3.35 - As mentioned in my preview post last month this is exactly the same as above only this has been scented with rose notes and contains different colours inside. What I personally like about this particular product line is that it can be broken into smaller pieces so you get more bang for your buck or of course chucked in the bath for one show stopping treat.

Lush Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb (re-promote) £3.30 - Yes it is back and rightly so too. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't enjoy this slightly magical bath bomb. The design some what hints at what is in-store come bath time - a blue outer shell that fizzes away in the bath tub to create a deep wine shade complete with an earthy aroma which couldn't be more fitting for the Autumn months. This is a blend of vanilla, black pepper and patchouli so it is slightly more mature and spice based than your typical Lush offering. In my humble opinion it captures the magic of Halloween perfectly and as I have stated in the past a younger family member did comment that it smells exactly how she'd imagine a Witches cauldron would. Oh we are a family of over imaginative thinkers.

Lush Pumpkin Bubble Bar (new) £3.50 - Forget Halloween this is the perfect Autumn addition to any bath! Not only is it utterly beautiful to look at but it smells divine! No it doesn't smell of pumpkin which will of course leave some temporarily disappointed (myself included) but rather an uplifting blend of lime, blackcurrant and Juniper notes which make a truly lovely bubble bath. As you can probably see this is dusted in gold glitter to give a gilded effect - a nightmare to clean out of the bath but the good news is that it does not stick to the skin. One bubble bar will easily do four to six full baths without scrimping on bubbles or scent. Probably my favourite product from the collection.

Lush Wizard Bubble Bar (new) £3.25 -One word. Cute (kay-u-t). A little stumpy wizard that gives Gandalf a run for his money in the running for my favourite wizard of all time (if you are interested it goes 1.Merlin, 2. Gandalf the Grey and 3.Radagast the Brown). Anyway this little bubble bar contains popping candy (luckily it pops in the water before you climb in the bath otherwise it could be shall we say intresting) and has been gently fragranced with notes of Juniper Berry, Tangerine and Ylang Ylang oil. It is bright, zesty and will appeal to both kids and adults alike. I only managed three baths with this bar so it isn't as great value as the Pumpkin Bubble Bar above but fun all the same.

Lush Fairy Ring Soap (new) £4.10 per 100g - Now this is what I call a show stopper, if I worked in Lush I wouldn't be able to bring myself to cutting this little, mushroom shaped fairy home into slices. You must pop into Lush and see this for yourself...or if you can't be bothered to do that I do have a photo in this post - link. If I had to note down one product that I am not the biggest fan of it would be this. Now don't get me wrong it isn't without it's charm (mainly the shape) but the mushroom and overall earthen based fragrance isn't for me. It has been scented using the new launched Lush Gorilla Volume 3 Perfume - Mycelium (Google the term, it is pretty complex but cool, I promise!) which of course is a term used within Mushroom hence the bizarre scent. Best described it smells like freshly picked mushrooms - earthen and slightly musty.
