Dior Diorshow Iconic Curl Mascara

Normally I try products for at least a week before gathering my thoughts and attempting to string together some sort of cohesive review (the key word is attempt here) but with Dior Diorshow Iconic Curl Mascara, three uses was more than enough. In all honesty by the third use I had adopted the why bother mentality as it was that poor in performance and this is coming from a girl who has purchased just about every new Dior release in the last three months.

Dior Diorshow Iconic Curl Mascara promises to add volume, length and curl to the lashes and boosts "stretch-effect formula" technology. The brush is curved, constructed and made from natural fibres and for what it is worth it really does grip on to the lashes, promotes curl and used with the actual mascara does add additional length. Sounds good huh? Well one light coat and you do have the appearance of long, separated eyelashes that have a natural curl but the effect is very minimal. This may well be some people's tastes especially for day wear but give the mascara 10-15 minutes and it has smudged all over the eye area - my brow bone had black splodges as did my lower eye area. Not cool and I should point out that my eye lids or eye area aren't currently all that oily. Oh and that is not all, if you dare to add a second or third coat Dior Diorshow Iconic Curl Mascara clumps like nothing I have ever experienced in the past. It looks cheap, frightful and not at all what I'd expect from a mascara that costs just shy of £25. I should point out that both sets of problems happened on all three instances.

I do try and look for positives in every product but in this instance I really can't think of all that much to jot down. The packaging is pretty and the brush is a great shape, especially if you have naturally poker straight eyelashes. I do have to wonder if perhaps the Dior Diorshow Iconic Curl Waterproof Mascara would perform better but at £24.50 I doubt I'll risk finding out. Basically if you enjoy super clumpy eyelashes with a side of smeared mascara this is the one - otherwise it is best avoided. Sorry Dior.
