Ah Shopping the Stash, a concept I used to do weekly without fail and then one day it fell out of favour.
It became forced and the joy was sucked clean from the concept. Fast forward a good few months later and I found myself in the midst of a cosmetic mess, merrily rediscovering products that have fallen by the way side.
Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum
How could I neglect such a beautiful scent, floral yet timeless. I can't think of an occasion that this wouldn't be suitable for, it is light yet memorable and basically just divine. I'm not the biggest lover of Chanel perfumes but this is my exception.
Essie Sole Mate Nail Lacquer and
Essie After School Blazer Nail Lacquer
Speaking of Chanel I have been favouring the brands nail lacquers as of late which means my sizeable Essie stash has become rather unloved. As it feels like Autumn here in Glasgow I fully intend to make good use of Essie Sole Mate - a deep, almost wine red and After School Blazer - a deep, no nonsense true, glossy navy blue. Autumn I'm ready for ya!
MeMeMe Blush in Pink
I currently have my eye on Dior Rosy Glow Blush and as a result have developed a crush on bright, slightly blue yet candy toned pink blushes. Inevitably I will cave and purchase the Dior Blush but until then I'm hoping the rather pretty MeMeMe Blush in Pink will suffice. They do look to be similar in tone.
Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Primer and
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Both are primers that I rate pretty highly and yet they have been collecting dust in my make-up storage. Typically I reach for a MAC Paint Pot as a primer come base product purely out of convenience but I think a quick layer of the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion will come in handy now that my eyelids are oilier than ever. Since I discovered Max Factor Facefinity Primer not much else has really got a look in but the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Primer is too good to ignore. It prolongs make-up wear, does buckle under excess oil and most importantly in my case it fills in those pesky enlarged pores.
MAC Whirl Lip Liner
Infamously Kylie Jenner's chosen lip colour but a great deep nude that I have been neglecting as of late. The problem is convenience, a lip liner is pretty annoying to reapply throughout the day in comparison to a more compact lipstick or gloss. I would put aside my lazy tendencies and enjoy this muted pink toned nude once more. Hello trout pout!
YSL Shocking Mascara
I don't really enjoy this mascara, I adore the YSL beauty brand on the whole but find this smudges and smears all over my brow bone within an hour or so. It is also prone to flaking and generally feels heavy on my flimsy eyelashes. My aim is to try to and find some way to make this work for me, it seems a waste to chuck away such an expensive mascara?
Have you rediscovered any old favourites recently?
Ouh I love the Channel perfume! It is, as you said, divine! The scent lasts all day long!

Whirl is something I've been wanting to pick up, but I agree that it doesn't seem to convenient to apply. I was trying to find a match for it among the MAC lipsticks but didn't have much luck, do you have any suggestions?

I really need to do this with my own makeup drawers... So much stuff in there that just doesn't get used... Might have to pick up that lip liner tho! :P

I love these types of posts, and I think I'm going to start doing them as well. I already do a "switch up" every two weeks where I basically shop my stash, but I think it would be fun to share it with readers! I love the look of those two Essie polishes - they look great for Fall!
