Birchbox UK August 2014 (Spoiler)

I like that with time beauty boxes have only got better, which leads me to sharing the contents of this months Birchbox UK. In typical Adrienne fashion I have of course fallen in love with the most expensive item in the box. Oh to be rich. Anyway here is what is inside...

Sarah McNamara Miracle Skin Transformer Hydroactive Microderm (14.2g)
This is a light, creamy exfoliant cream that doesn't foam or strip the skin of any moisture.
I really had high hopes for this product but I found it to be a little too abrasive even when I was being super gentle with massaging movements. I worry that this would really upset sensitive skin.

Wild About Beauty Powder Eyeshadow in 01 Paradise (full size)
I am a huge fan of Wild About Beauty, I like the brand ethos and the products are really well made.
This powder eyeshadow is no different, okay the shade is not exactly something I would reach for daily but the pigmentation is great, it feels soft and silken on the skin and is easy to blend out.
I will be on the look out for more "me" shades.

Liaison de Parfum in No Matter What (sample vial)
Anything that comes sweetly packaged has my vote from the get go but luckily Liaison de Parfum in No Matter What is beautiful. It has been created with creative and independent women in mind and contains notes of coriander, rose, jasmine and musk. It is fresh, upbeat and has wonderful lasting power. I should hope so at £105 for a full sized bottle...gulp!

Supergoop CC Cream in Light to Medium (2x3ml)
I'm over BB, CC and any other double barrel initial creams however they do have their place in some routines - for me it is when in a sunny location. The Supergoop CC Cream in Light to Medium does run a little orange so it really won't be all that suitable for pale complexions. It does blend out well, offers moisture and coverage in one quick step. With a little powder I found it stayed in place for a good 8 hours. For me it is not an item that I would rush out to purchase in full size but it is a decent CC Cream none the less.

N.4 Lumiere d'hiver Super Comb Prep and Protect (30ml)
I was so over leave in conditioner until I decided to give this a whirl, this is basically a natural conditioning mist that detangles the hair, protects against heat all the while repair damage caused by heat and chemical styling. I should also mention that it helps tame frizz! I will be investing in a full sized bottle!

The Proposal by Tasmina Perry (sample chapter)
Although not my kind of book at all it is still nice to see Birchbox take the holiday/vacation theme seriously and include pretty much all you would need (minus SPF and a return ticket) for a few days in the sun. It is always a good idea to read a chapter or two before purchasing a book - it will save on hoards of unread books within your book shelf...nothing sadder.
