These are a Few of My Favourite Things June 2014

July already? How did that happen?
It only feels like last week when we were all tucking into Chocolate Easter Eggs.
It is scary how quickly this year is zipping by - I'll be wishing you a Merry Christmas soon!
Before I get too ahead of myself let me share a few of my favourite products for the month that was June 2014...

These are a Few of My Favourite Things June 2014

At the moment I am all about cream eyeshadows and oddly my higher end pots have been taking a back set to cheap and cheerful alternatives. For days when I feel like wearing a full face of make-up I have been reaching for Maybelline Color 24 hr Tattoo Eyeshadow in On and On Bronze (find it here - link). This cool almost taupe toned eyeshadow is so easy to apply, I tend to just smudge on using my fingertips and maybe add a little definition in the crease using a matte eyeshadow. Long lasting, well priced and always looks great what more could you ask for.

A newly found favourite has to be Rimmel Kate Moss Eyeshadow Stick in Rose Gold, this reminds me of a MAC Paint Pot but in pencil form. They are incredibly easy to apply and can be used as a primer, eye liner or as an eyeshadow but more importantly it doesn't budge or crease on the balmiest of days. Oh did I mention that the Rose Gold shade is beautiful on blue eyes? You can find it here - link.

Hayfever hasn't been too kind on my eyes in the past few weeks and not many mascara's have really stood the test of time. A newly found everyday staple of mine has to be L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara, I like that the wand is large yet due to the comb style it easily coats each lash - even those pesky, small corner lashes. One coat and you have long fluttery, natural lashes and a few coats later you have more length, volume and drama. It doesn't matter how many coats you apply this mascara does not clump. In a word? Amazing. You can find it here - link.

To take off eye make-up I have been really enjoying Benefit They're Real Eye Make Up Remover, this thick balmy eye make-up remover takes off all eye make-up in a jiffy with minimal effort. I like that it soothes and hydrates such a delicate area. At £14.50 admittedly it isn't cheap but a little goes a long, long way and it is a must if you wear waterproof mascara regularly, same applies for all those who are a fan of the smoky eye look! The two lip colours I have been reaching for day in, day out are fairly neutral but super pretty and easy to wear. First up we have Chanel Coco Rouge Shine Lipstick in Boy (find it here - link), a sheer pink come mauve shade that has a glossy finish and nourishing formula. It is one of those few shades that I own and know I can slick it on any time and anywhere and it will look great. If you are looking to dip your toes into the Chanel lipstick world I highly recommend beginning with this shade. Being blonde means some pink lipsticks are off bounds for fear of looking like an overgrown Barbie doll and yet I utterly adore Lord & Berry Shining Lipstick Crayon in Vintage Pink. It is a slightly more pigmented version of MAC Angel Lipstick in my eyes. It wears for hours and comfortably so. This brand doesn't get enough credit, do check it out if you get a chance. You can find the Lord & Berry Lipstick Crayons here - link.

The recent warm weather has resulted in my hair being rather flat and difficult to manage both pre and post wash. I truly couldn't be without Uniq' One All in One Hair Treatment. I prefer the Coconut version due to the fragrance but both this and the original do the same thing. Basically this is a spray in leave in conditioner that minimises frizz, has UVB/UVA protection making it perfect for taking on holiday not to mention it hydrates and makes de-tangling a lot easier. In the last six months I have went through two bottles which I think it good going considering how long and thick my hair is and of course the frequency in which I was my hair. If you buy one leave in conditioner this summer let it be this. Find it here on offer - link.

Lastly and perhaps most importantly I have to mention Bumble and Bumble BB Pret-a-Powder, on warm days this prevents my hair from looking limp and adds a little grip if needed for an up style. I also like to use this as a dry shampoo to re-freshen my hair in-between washes. This is the only dry shampoo I find that doesn't irritate my scalp, gone are the days of an itchy head and lots of white residue. I put my hands up and admit that at £21.50 this is far from cheap but it is worth it as a little goes a long way. I swear by it. You can find it here - link.
