Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick by Kate Moss in Rose Gold

Would you believe me if I told you I only popped into Boots for toothpaste?
Of course you would because we have all been there, you go in for one simple thing, normally a necessity and walk out £30/£40 lighter. Boots you are a cruel mistress. One the plus side there does seem to be some great and well priced launches out at the moment...

I don't really browse the Collection stands in Boots or Superdrug all that often as truthfully other than their range of concealers which you can not beat for the price it is not a brand that appeals to me. As most will know I'm not a huge fan of Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balms and yet I would like a small, reasonably priced and hopefully fruity lip balm to pop in my bag for daily use. At £1.99 each I thought I'd give the Collection Mardi Gras lip balms a go - they come in three scents : Strawberry, Green Apple and Orange. I picked up Green Apple and Orange, so far I can't say I'm blown away nor all that disappointed. They simply feel like Chapstick or scented Vaseline on my lips. I'll report back in a week or so as I have only really used them three or four times at this point. You can find all three Collection Mardi Gras Lip Balms here - link.

I adore Rose Gold eyeshadow in fact anything remotely copper toned gets my vote and after seeing nothing but rave reviews for Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick by Kate Moss in Rose Gold I knew it had to be mine. This was easier said than done as it seems just about everyone else had the same thoughts. It was the only shade sold out. Someone had even taken the tester (eww). Luckily for me it was delivery day and the sales assistant very kindly got me a brand spanking new shadow stick from the back of the store. I have only used this the once which was last night and can say that I liken it in terms of texture and wear to a stick version of Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows once it sets it does not budge - no creasing etc. It also doesn't hurt that the shade really makes blue eyes pop. A full review will come soon but until then trust me when I say you need this. You can find it here for £4.99 - link.

Have you tried Maybelline's Big Eyes Mascara? I have and really, really like it. Especially the brush/side for the lower lashes. Does it make my eyes seem bigger? Probably not but I am a sucker for a gimmick so it is of little surprise that when I say the newly launched Maybelline Big Eyes Liner Duo that I popped it in my basket with no hesitation. At the moment there is two colour ways to choose from: white/black and beige/black, I went with the latter as I really like nude toned eyeliners for my water line. I believe the idea is that you tight line your upper lash line with the black shade and use the lighter shade on the lower water line. Great in theory but the liners are so firm that next to no colour deposits on the water lines. I also found that it made my eyes itch. For the moment I am blaming my hayfever and giving the liner the benefit of the doubt but so far I'm not all that blown away despite thinking it is a great idea that is so well priced. Maybe I have a dud? You can find the Maybelline Big Eyes Liner Duo here for £4.99 - link.
