Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay Home Candle

A few days ago I was fortunate enough to be invited to the opening of SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) Redhall Walled Gardens in Edinburgh which is being funded by Jo Malone London. Basically it is the most tranquil and divine place within an urban area that features a 6 acre estate in which SAMH offer training in horticulture, conservation, maintenance skills, ITC/admin and life skills for people with mental health problems. It is a beautiful idea and really does help those in need, if you bought the Jo Malone Silk Blossom Candle you have in turn helped support this wonderful cause. As a leaving gift I was presented with a Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay Home Candle and my goodness does it smell divine...

In the summer my candle collection takes a back seat, don't get me wrong when snuggled up in bed in the evening with a book I may light a sleepy scent such as lavender or chamomile but it is no where as often as come the Winter or Autumn. Yet for the last two evenings just after dinner I have had Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay Home Candle flickering away, it is juicy, ripe and perfect for the lighter evenings. At first I couldn't pin point what the fragrance reminded me off but it came flashing back - home made fruit jam. "Inspired by childhood memories of blackberry picking. A burst of deep, tart blackberry juice, blending with the freshness of just-gathered bay and brambly woods." I know that Jam may not sound all that appetising but the green, leafy addition of bay leaf really makes this candle stand out from other fruity home fragrances.

If you are tempted by Jo Malone fragrances or candles (I mean who isn't?) and want something fruity and more-ish then give Blackberry and Bay Home a go. Yum!
