Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask

Lately we have been having a Lush love in and one product I have pretty much forced upon all those near and dear has been Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask. Why? Well I wanted to garner as many opinions as possible, see how many skin types this is suitable for and out of curiosity measure how uses one pot of Lush's Fresh Face Masks can provide.

Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask

On Sunday night myself, two younger sisters and mum all slapped on Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask which was my second application and the first time for all involved. A quick skin run down: I have combination skin at the moment which is more oily than anything else, one of my sisters has dry skin but sensitive skin, the other has blemish prone and lastly my mum has normal skin. Between us I would say we just about tick all skin care concern boxes non? Basically Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask has been created with oily and teenage skin types in mind but I wouldn't concentrate on that too much - yes it will suit such complexions but it should be more than suitable for all that are looking for a deep cleanse.

Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask contains Rhassoul mud, which aims to mop up excess oil. This in turn works with cocoa powder to draw out all the dirt and impurities hense the deep cleanse aspect. Oh but there is more fresh mint has been added to the mix to stimulate and tones the skin as well as linseed and cocoa butter soften and moisturise. As you can imagine by both the look and ingredient list of this product that this indeed smells similar to chocolate, dark, slightly bitter chocolate. It is really pleasant in terms of scent and proves that looks aren't everything!

Out of the four of us I would say that myself and sister with the blemish prone skin benefited most from using Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask. We found that it left our skin noticeable more matte without being drying or harsh. Blemishes and red patches seemed to be calmed and less inflamed and skin was left feeling softer. Truthfully I think such skin types will have to use this twice a week to notice any real change but overall the experience was pleasant and I wouldn't hesitate to repurchase this mask next time I am in Lush. My other sister with dry/sensitive skin and my mum enjoyed the deep cleanse and slightly gritty texture aspects of this mask - a little like Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish this mask both gently cleanses and exfoliates the skin in one quick step. Some scrubs can be a little too harsh for certain skin types but I can happily report that all skin types involved agreed that this was kind to the skin but effective. Honestly my sister (sensitive/dry) and mum other than stating that their skin felt soft to the touch and deeply cleansed didn't notice any real difference which I somewhat expected but it is good to know that this won't upset delicate skin types. If you have oily/blemish prone skin this is the one to grab come your next Lush trip, same applies if you want a gentle scrub come deep cleanse.

Oh and for those who are wondering this tiny tub has provided 5 full applications (which were pretty generous) with room for at least one more.
