You don't need me to tell you that the weather has been less than wonderful lately, I know those south of the border have enjoyed a few sun soaked days but up here in the north it is chilly, windy and frankly not all that pleasing. Luckily I have been sent a trio of new fragrances from Flamingo Candles to help chase away the Winter blues (surely it is Spring now?) and turn my home into a fresh, fruity scented haven.
For Spring/Summer 2014 Flamingo Candles have launched an entirely new line up of fragrances each of which perfectly encapsulate all the things that we associate with the warmer weather. Eight new scents have just launched which include: Cucumber and Melon, Mandarin and Basil, Peach Splash, Pomegranate and White Fig, Green Tea and Lemon, Lemon and Lime Mojito, Oriental Lotus and Rose Otto and lastly Asian Pear and Plum - so hopefully there is something for everyone's taste?
Personally I tend to gravitate towards fresh and uplifting fragrances and do have a weak spot for citrus based scents when Summer finally rolls around. I was lucky enough to be sent three of the new S/S'14 offerings from Flamingo Candles and I can happily say that each one is delicious (yes really!) on it's own or for a truly intense fragrance experience burned together. I have Cucumber and Melon which is of course an uplifting green yet somewhat fruity scent - I would deem this to be unisex and one of those few fragrances that you can burn all day long without it becoming overpowering or offensive to the senses. It reminds me of a certain Jo Malone Cologne but you didn't hear that from me (wink, wink). I have also been trying out Green Tea and Lemon which is unlike anything I have experienced before - it is mild and again a green based fragrance but not at all fruity. I can not think of anything to compare it to but what I will say is that it is my favourite. Lastly when I need a little pep in my step I have been burning Lemon and Lime Mojito which is a must for any lime fragrance fanatic. It is so sweet and fresh that you can not help but feel a little more cheery with it flickering away in the background.
