Origins Clear Improvement Mask Dupe

While raiding my sisters stash (hey it's a two way street baby) I stumbled across a tube of a face mask which looked suspiciously like my ever used and repurchased Origins Clear Improvement Mask, the only difference is that this version is made by Avon and of course marginally cheaper. Is it a dupe?

I've spoke time and time again about Origins Clear Improvement Mask (read my full review here - link) which technically is an active charcoal based mask has been formulated to deeply clear pores which it does well but I find it to be suited to aiding the clear up of those painful under the skin blemishes. Essentially this mask will deeply cleanse the skin from environmental pollutants, dirt and general debris get under your skin thoroughly cleansing the pores which in turn will help promote a clear complexion. I like to use this as a both a weekly detox mask and will dab it on targeted areas when needed to help shift an under the skin blemish. Those like myself with enlarged pores may purchase this in the hope it will shrink them, let me tell you that is not the case but clearer pores do look smaller so all is not a loss.

The Avon version is dubbed Avon Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask and costs a measly £5 (it is on offer for £3 at the moment) and truthfully fragrance aside (the Avon version has a aquatic scent) I can't tell them apart. Both cleanse deeply leaving my skin looking instantly fresher with a healthy glow, both contain active charcoal properties coupled with Salicylic Acid to heal and prevent blemished and of each mask aids oil control. The main difference is that the Avon Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask does take an age to reach the drying out process on the skin which can be rather irritating if impatient like myself but other than that there is next to no difference other than the price tag £22 (Origins) and £5 (Avon).

Truthfully Origins pip Avon to the post purely because it is quicker to use and easier for me to get hold of if needed there and then where as Avon isn't readily available but again that boils down to my impatience (I want it all and I want it now).
