Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Petal

Gosh I'm slow off the mark, I bought Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Petal way back in July while in states and never as much as looked at it until a few weeks ago. Truthfully (feel free to judge) I bought this tinted lip balm on a whim while in Sephora looking for something totally unrelated, you know how it goes...

As far as lip balm goes the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments feel and look rather high end, the packaging is divine - a beautiful metallic outer that reflects the shade of the lip tint inside the tubing. Yes it is pretty but sadly the packaging is somewhat flimsy meaning the actually product has a habit of wobbling and knocking inside the tube. Typically this isn't something I would pick up on but at around £20 a tube I do feel this has to be mentioned and of course improved.

Now on to the good part, although somewhat pricey the formula is simply wonderful - a soft, creamy offering that feels light yet hydrating on the lips complete with a subtle hint of colour. It does tingle somewhat on application and to my nose the scent of this particular shade (Petal) it smells and oddly tastes a lot like those fizzy cola bottle sweets. Although soft Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments are in firm until they touch the lips meaning they hold their shape well and won't melt and reset constantly like some lip balms. I liken them somewhat to a more hydrating and on occasion less pigmented version of Revlon's Lip Butters. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Petal offers an SPF15 but doesn't really fit the mould of a lip treatment as it won't heal chapped lips due to their being no medicinal values.

The best selling shade of Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment is Honey, a light slightly warm, caramel hue that is so me and yet I walked away with the shade Petal. To this day I still don't understand why and can only blame the hot southern sun for my reasoning. Having said that Petal is actually rather pretty, a light glossy muted pink brown hue that slots into the my lips but better category. I liken it somewhat to MAC's Cosmo Lipstick only less pigmented and of course glossy.

In the UK Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments are pretty difficult to come by but you can find them via Amazon and eBay just prepare to pay over the odds.
