Ecosse Candles

I was recently introduced to Ecosse Candles which of course is a Scottish company that creates soy wax candles all of which are hand poured. The was used is sustainable soy wax that is not tinted so that it is more environmentally friendly. One of the benefits of soy wax is that it can be washed out easily with hot soapy water meaning ruined furnishings is a thing of the past. Being a Scot I am rather taken by the brand as they offer many fragrances that I feel smell like home - homemade shortbread, thistle and honey, woodland walk and much more. Of course you don't have to be Scottish to enjoy Ecosse Candles but if you are I urge you to support a home grown company.

I was sent a good few candles to put to the test but my firm favourites have to be those that come in coloured glass containers, they look so much more expensive that they actually are and really brighten up a dull day. In the glass category there is two sizes to chose from : the glass jar is rather sizeable (80-90 hours burn time) and on par with a large Yankee Candle and the glass votive's are about double the size of a typical votive (12-15 hours burn time), so you get value for money. As the wax is soy once you have finished burning the candles they are very easy to clean and re-purpose the containers should you wish. Okay on to the scents...

Ecosse Candles

Bluebell Bouquet - As many will know Bluebell's don't truly have a discernible fragrance but I think we all have a general concept of what we imagine a bluebell to smell like? Something like a violet only dare I say it bluer? Well Bluebell Bouquet captures that beautifully and is rather akin to Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell only this is a little more intense. As you can imagine being what I would describe the scent throw on this scent is incredible. If you like fresh floral fragrances this one is for you.

Homemade Shortbread - Winter is coming (Game of Thrones eh) and what could be more inviting or warming than the scent of fresh baking? Nothing my friends that is what and I highly recommend Ecosse Candles Homemade Shortbread, it is sugary sweet yet buttery at the same time and smells rather authentic.

Sweet Pea - This has to be my favourite - sweet and floral, it reminds me a little of Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy perfume. It is young, delicious and perfect for brighting up any dull day. If you like fruity florals look no further.
