The newest addition to the ever expanding Vaseline lip care family is Vaseline Paint the Town which is of course limited edition and perhaps my favourite launch from the brand to date.
A bright red tinted lip balm that gives a light red almost berry stain to the lips with a light glossy sheen, non-sticky finish and in this instance a rather festive spiced berry scent. If this doesn't get you into the festive spirit albeit prematurely then my guess is nothing will!
Truthfully I don't really have a stance on Vaseline lip care products some swear by it others recoil at the thought of putting what is essentially tinted petroleum oil onto their lips. In all honesty it will do you no harm what so ever but I should point out that in laymen's terms Vaseline acts as a barrier so it is not truly a moisturising product - in essence it prevents water etc from entering any area of the skin that this is applied to so no moisture will escape but no moisture will get in. Having said that a barrier can be great for wind chapped lips to make the most of it I highly suggest applying a medicated lip balm then a quick slick of Vaseline Paint the Town on top. That way you get all the healing benefits from the balm that will be locked in place with a glossy red tint thanks to Vaseline.

ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely colour and the scent sounds gorgeous! I have to admit I've kind of stopped using Vaseline as I found it just dries my skin out horribly, I might have to pick a tin of this up though..

I haven't succumbed to any of the vaseline limited editions but I think I might have to with this one. I love the packaging too, how cool would that look in my make up bag? Too cool to pass up I think is the answer.

I've seen this mentioned on a few beauty bloggers posts and I can safely say I can't wait to get my hands on a tin. I still have my limited edition Pink Bubbly Vaseline from this time last year and it lasts ages and feels lovely on the lips.
ReplyDeleteThis will just be great to use when I'm around the house and want a bit of colour to my lips. :D
