Feet...not my favourite topic to write about by a long shot but as boot season is nearly upon us it pays to up the ante now to avoid dry, rough and painful skin that will not be helped by the stilettos you will most likely be wearing come party season. Being the slightly bizarre woman that I am I have a few less than traditional products up my sleeve to help keep your tootsies fresh, soft and supple.
P.S eww feet ha!

First up we have a more traditional product in Smiths of Jersey Hand and Food Cream which despite its almost clay like texture and appearance has to be one of the most nourishing products for the feet I have encountered. If you like quick action products this is for you not only does it contain shea butter for true nourishment but it is practically scent free and the quickest out of all the products featured to absorb not to mention it is made using natural ingredients that also happen to be organic. Basically rub this all over your feet, forget about it and enjoy the baby soft feet in a matter of moments. It really is a marvel.

Yes, yes Sunday Riley Disrobe is a body lotion but a body lotion with a difference. First of all the texture is fairly thick resulting in it being a great product to work into the feet, slip a pair of cotton socks on and crawl into bed to allow it work its magic. The real magic is the fact that Sunday Riley Disrobe does so much more than moisturise it actually exfoliates too. Yes really. Now it won't remove those stubborn hard skin patches that can often be found on the heels but it will reveal new fresh skin with no effort what so ever. Genius.

I did warn that I am not totally conventional and my choice for really parched piggies has to be Soap & Glory's Hand Food. Yes it is for the hands and a little thick and dare I say greasy but in my experience when your feet are super dry and almost to the painful stage nothing quite does the job like Soap & Glory's Hand Food. It may not absorb as quickly as the others but teamed with socks in bed it won't bother most especially when you awaken to the most gloriously soft skin ever. Next time you are perched on your bed moisturising your hands before slumber try it and tell me you are not convinced.

Every now and then we all deserve a treat...even our feet and for that I recommend an oil, not only does it feel more luxurious on the skin but you can incorporate a foot massage for a little extra bliss. My top picks are any massage bar from Lush as they are bursting with butters be it shea, cocoa or coconut to really moisturise without minimal fuss. You can also burn a little in an oil burner to add a little ambience. Or if like myself that sounds a lot like effort...effort you can not be bothered with then dig through your stash and find a nourishing facial or body oil and slap it on your feet. I personally like to use Balance Me oils as they tend to be some of the most hydrating out there, smell truly amazing, absorb quickly and are from natural origin. If you do plump for an oil be sure to pop on socks afterwards unless sliding around and a trip to the local A&E list high on your agenda.

Happy feet!
