A recent launch that has caught my attention over in the US has to be the Maybelline Color Elixir Lipgloss collection. From the get go my mind instantly associated them with YSL's Glossy Stains only with brighter, more intense shades and of course being Maybelline the price point should be much more purse friendly.
"Fall under the spell of the elixir effect. Hyper-saturated color, ultra cushiony feel. The new hypnotic lip sensation."
Apparently the Maybelline Color Elixir Lipgloss formula offers both the hydration and feel of a balm (that is how I would describe the YSL Glossy Stains in terms of texture), the full pigmentation of a lipstick coupled with the high level of shine only a gloss could offer. The icing on the cake is that it also features a rather familiar brush (hello YSL) that is said to deliver perfect application each and every time. Yep a dupe in the making of the YSL Glossy Stains if you ask me.
Having seen reviews and sneak peeks of the Maybelline Color Elixir Lipgloss' pop up on various US based blogs I can happily say that not only does the formula look promising but the shade range is rather extraordinary too. As these have only just launched in the US my guess is it will be Spring 2014 before we see them on UK shelves...let the count down commence.
Can't wait to try them! But, of course, in Italy they will come out in 2015! We can never try products before other countries! But, apart from that, i'm excited!! :D

I love these! They are really like a liquid lip balm, very hydrating, but they don't stain at all. So I wouldn't say that they're a YSL dupe. Overall they are still great quality and the colors are very pretty!

I don't think I like the glossy stain trend :( I tried it, but I'm so used to matte shades it just felt like my lips were sliding off my face.
