Oh gosh is the name of Seventeen's newest product cringeworthy "Phwoarr Paint", I can feel my toes curling as I speak but if you are in the market for a well priced concealer that will hide the darkest of circles then look past the name as this really is a gem.
Sadly like most high street brands Seventeen's Phwoarr Paint does only come in two shades Fair - which is a light slightly orange tinged hue which will be suitable for most fair complexions but be a little too deep for those with more of an Ivory complexion. The other shade is Medium which is what I opted for and again it is fairly light but with a more orange undertone. I know what you are thinking orange ugh but such tone counters the often blue tone of dark circles. For £5.49 the packaging is not something to write home about nor does it warrant any complaints - a small black round compact with a handy mirror for on the go applications. No it won't appeal to all ages but given Seventeen's target market (teens) it is rather fitting.
Truthfully the texture of Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Heavy Duty Under Eye Concealer is somewhat thick, rich and almost tacky in texture and reminds me greatly of Benefit's Erase Paste. The pro's of such formulation is that it hides all signs of fatigue around the eye area and is fairly easy to apply and blend out. The heavier texture does take some time to get used to and in all honesty I do prefer something lighter in texture. The con's is that a thick texture like this is less than suitable for more mature or drier skin types as it does cling to any faults such as lines or dry patches. Also on oily skin you will have to set this as it can gather and crease after two hours - however with a light dusting of powder this will wear for close to eight hours on my oily skin. In my opinion this is a great budget version of Benefit's Erase Paste but is best for those with no under eye concerns other than signs of a restless sleep.
Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Heavy Duty Under Eye Concealer's are available now from Boots

ReplyDeleteLovely review, it looks and sounds like a great product! I wish I could give it a try but unfortunately I have an ivory skin tone, so I don't think that either shade would be good for me. Also, I definitely agree that the product name is cringeworthy, haha x
ReplyDeleteit's worth a swatch, i'm very pale and it's fine for me
DeleteI heard about this a while back, really want to try it :)

Looks nice, I love Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage for under my eyes, hands down the best thing ever! But this looks like it might be a good budget option!

I just bought this this morning as I can't stretch to erase paste but I have dry skin so I'll approach it with caution - thank you for the review! xxx
ReplyDeleteI so almost nearly bought this today, might pick it up next time i'm in town :)
ReplyDeleteI was going to treat myself to Erase paste but after seeing two good reviews on this I just have to give it a try before shelling out :)

Phwarrrrr lol what a name. I've seen a couple of reviews on this now and its such a shame it has that slight orange hue. I will have a swatch when im in town to see if it would be the right shade for me as its a good price so definitly a handbag item.

I don't think I'll be trying this as it will definitely be too dark for my really pale skin tone. The name is definitely a cringe though haha x

I am so so excited to try this out! I was thinking about purchasing the Bobbi Brown corrector but it's just too pricey for my student purse :(

After reading this review I went out and bought this concealer. Cringey name aside I think this product is a great little budget buy and I love the fact that it contains a decent sized mirror, perfect for my makeup bag!
