Is this the future for the Maybelline Baby Lips franchise? A primer that could possibly rival the likes of Benefit's Porefessional but be kinder to the purse strings? I sure hope so!
Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser has already launched in Asia and at it's core it is a clear gel based silicone primer that is said to glide on to the skin and give soft, smother skin and of course minimise the appearance of enlarged pores by filling them in to some extent. It has been said online that it gives the skin a soft focus appearance and can help to blur the appearance of pores with the benefit of "baby soft skin" and a light matte finish. I particularly like that the tube states it is breathable which is a break for the sometimes heavy silicone primers I have tried in the past.
In my opinion it sounds great and Musing of a Muse has reviewed it here - link
If like myself you are already tempted and don't want to hedge your bets on it launching in the UK (sometimes it feels like we are last to get everything!) you can find it via Sasa for $11.50/£7.22 - link
It's all just too creepy

I read a review on this on an American blog a couple of weeks ago and the review was quite negative - I don't think I will be buying this
ReplyDeleteThis just makes me feel weird...and kinda pervy.
ReplyDeleteWow must try this!
ReplyDeleteOh this sounds great, i didnt give in to the babylips craze but this is something id love to try!

Hmm, I'm intrigued! I hate it when primers feel really silcone-y though, I don't like the plastic sensation. Still, would be interesting to see what this is like!xx

It's been out in some of the asian market for awhile now! It has been given pretty good reviews I think :D
ReplyDeleteI love the baby lips range so really want to try this. I am really picky about primers so not sure I will like it but I am curious!

Sounds fab! Hope it launches in the UK soon-as!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog : )

I wanna try it!!

This is pretty interesting, id give it a go, any cheaper primer that says it reduces pores is worth looking into in my eyes!
ReplyDeleteI think the whole baby thing is a bit weird though, or is that just me that thinks it? :-/ x

This sounds great!

I can see the Maybelline 'Baby' line going the as route as Urban Decay's 'Naked' line. However, this does sound interesting and it would be good to have really good, but affordable primer on the market.

I haven't yet tried the Baby Lips range but Baby Skin sounds like something I'd be more keen to try out.

When I read your post I had to smile. I think its a real good marketing strategy to promise skin like a baby after all that's what we are all after aren't we?? I have to say I am looking forward to testing it out if and when it comes to the UK.

The babylips didn't grab me but I'm always on the look out for a primer that minimises pores, so I will keep an eye out for this to be released over here.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really interesting, especially if it rivals the Porefessional!xx

After seeing the craze with the babylips it'll be interesting to see if this is just as good!

I bought this when I was in Japan earlier this year. It is really silicone feeling and mine has just started to get blocked up in the tube (much like my fiance's actual silicone) so am thinking it's probably not the best for the skin but it works quite well at smoothing and priming before makeup.
ReplyDeleteIt looks quite weird bringing babies into the equasion as we all know babies will always have the purest skin! Looks interesting though. And if it's cheaper than porefessional I will definitely be reading up on some reviews x
ReplyDeleteThe baby lips are amazing. Not sure about this one though, all the reviews I've read say this product is not worth it...
