Everywhere I turn it seems everyone is getting excited about Autumn. Who can blame them, snugly knitwear, cosy nights in with a DVD, crunching leaves and Halloween - as you can tell I'm also very excited.
However as someone who prefers fruity scents I often struggle finding the perfect transitional fragrance - one that I can spritz on in September when there is still some traces of late Summer sunshine yet fitting for the crisper weather. Worry not fellow fruit fragrance lovers as I have found the very thing.
First of all if you love fig based scents then you really are missing out if you haven't already tried out the Roger & Gallett Fleur de Figuier range. It's fresh yet warm, fruity yet comforting and oddly familiar - it really could not be more perfect for the upcoming Autumn. It is a fairly complex scent which includes a The sensorial accord of fig pulp that has been enhanced by a hint of caraway and combined with the freshness of grapefruit. It truly is beautiful and not in my opinion a summer scent by any means. If you have tried out Diptyque Figuier range fell in love but not so much with the price I can safely say that the Roger & Gallett Fleur de Figuier fragrance is incredibly similar.
Despite being a Eau Fraiche Parfumee (basically one step up from an eau de toilette but not quite on par with a eau de parfume) this fragrance is incredibly strong and wears all day long which was a pleasant surprise. As it is strong I do suggest applying with a less as more approach so you don't overwhelm both yourself and all those that surround you ha!
Roger & Gallett Fleur de Figuier* Eau Fraiche Parfumee £30/100ml is currently exclusive to M&S who are running a free gift with purchase promotion - link
I had a sample of one of their perfumes in a Glossy Box and I want it so badly!! It was so nice, I have a feeling it may have been this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly new to fig scents but am completely besotted with that earthy note at the moment. I think you're right that it's because of autumn coming :o). Xx

ReplyDeleteI have the Rose Imaginaire version and I LOVE it.. but it's running out so maybe I'll have to buy this one..
ReplyDeleteWhen I received this I knew instantly I was going to love it. Figs and me go way back and in fragrances, it's even more heavenly. It reminds me of a scent in Penhaligons but I wasn't entirely sure which. Great review, Adrienne! xo
