Forgive the misleading title as I do not own a bath which let me tell you is the bone of many a contention in the Sunday household (a bath is so much more dreamy in the winter months), so no this is not a full review but hopefully it will help...even in a minuscule way. As mentioned I have no bath tub so what I did do was break off a little from each product to see what it did (fizz etc) and how much more subtle the scent would be once diluted. As mentioned this year Lush for Halloween are only launching three bath products and no Day of the Dead products which sucks as I rather enjoy the Calaveras limited edition shower jelly but I guess this year it is not meant to be.
Lush Pumkin Bubble Bar (£2.75)*
Poor little Pumkin it seems my Postman may have kicked him around a little!
Rest assure that should you purchase one in-store yours will be in one piece and oodles cuter - not that this little guy isn't sweet in his own little way. As Lush state this does create lots of bubbles which are a little softer and not as foam like as say a bubble bath while turning the water a bright pumpkin hue of orange.

The scent is ylang ylang oil and orange flower which aims to be uplifting and refreshing - to my nose this has a light floral scent that weakens somewhat when added to water and would be my choice for a little Halloween treat for younger kiddies. I would have loved this to have a spiced pumpkin scent.
Lush Soot Ball Bath Bomb (£2.50)*
This cute little monster type guy has been "inspired by the ‘soot gremlins’ from Hayao
Miyazaki’s film Spirited Away" and despite his chalky black appearance he won't turn the bath water black rather it becomes a bright golden shade/effect to mimic liquid gold while fizzing and hissing around in the water. It is rather funky if I do say so myself. Out of the trio the Soot Ball has the most earthen/autumnal which includes notes of olibanum (frankincense) tonka absolute and sandalwood oil which Lush have accurately described "as a sweet, spicy fragrance that wafts through the steam" and I personally would deem it to be unisex.
Lush Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb (£3.30)*
I kinda wish this was a more magical offering perhaps with some glitter and/or some sequin stars - it just seems a little blah for Halloween, yes I understand the sentiment (named after the ruler of the Pagan Feast of Fools) but I can't help thinking this would be 100 times more beautiful and striking with glitter. There goes my inner magpie again. This bath bomb will slowly dissolve to reveal a wine coloured centre and has been scented using world’s first fair trade vanilla absolute combined with black pepper and patchouli oil. It pretty much smells like any other Vanilla scented product Lush offer which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The Lord of Misrule will be around until Spring 2014 so should you love it you have plenty of time to stock up.
All of the above Lush products will be online and in-store on 23rd of September.

ReplyDeleteI'd cry if we didn't have a bath, I don't use it often but it's so nice to just relax for an hour of an evening in the winter.
