Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y Eau de Parfum

I first tested Stella McCartney's L.I.L.Y Eau de Parfum last year albeit via a teeny fabric sample in a magazine and swiftly fell head over heels for it on the spot. I don't know why I put off purchasing it but I did, however while stuck for 8 dull hours in an airport waiting to go home I made the splurge and couldn't be happier, a little lighter in the pocket but a happy chappy indeed.

In my opinion all of Stella McCartney's scents are simple yet sophisticated and truthfully not something I truly appreciated until recently. If you are looking for something classic, floral, understated yet slightly sexy all the while oozing class then look no further than Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y.  It truly is beautiful, so much so that I feel the term beautiful does it next to no justice.

Lilies are my favourite flower but due to having cats I can't have the real blossom in my house or garden (the pollen from this flower is poisons to cats) which really doesn't bother me at all as I am a total cat lady but it is nice to have the odd whiff of lily every now and then even if it happens to be artificial. A random piece of trivia that is beyond sweet is that scent gets the name from the nickname Paul McCartney gave his wife (Stella's mother) Linda.I.Love.You, such a lovely piece of sentiment isn't it?

Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y is constructed from natural components which of course includes lily of the valley at the heart and oak moss at the base. Each note was chosen by Stella herself, who wanted a clean and uncomplicated fragrance and that is just what has been delivered. I have nothing at all similar ( I do feel fans of Narciso Rodriguez fans would appreciate this) and would recommend all fans of both the lily flower and Stella McCartney scents to try it out for themselves

Top Notes: Black Truffle, Black Pepper
Heart Notes: Lily of the Valley, Pink Pepper, White Musk
Base Notes: Oak Moss, Patchouli
