Trashy Barbie Nails

Yesterday I got my nails done by Swoon Nails (I highly recommend paying Lia a visit if you are local to Glasgow) and ended up getting super trashy Barbie nails and do you know what I love them!
Pink, Barbie decals and lots of glitter it is the nails seven year old Adrienne dreamed of...better late than never.

This time around I went with long almond shaped extensions but I am growing my natural nails underneath so I can ditch the extensions in the coming months and simply get an Calgel overlay. Essentially Calgel is a glossy finish soak off gel that is robust, strong yet flexible at the same time (no cracks or chips) not to mention it is much kinder on the nails than acrylic and can be applied to the natural nail or in my case sculptors (extensions). Calgel allows the natural nail underneath to breathe and grow so even after the extensions are soaked off the natural nail is not damaged in anyway. Calgel is applied a little like Gelish or Shellac in that it is cured with a UV lamp but unlike said methods this won't peel off after a week or so.

This is my second set of Calegel extensions by Swoon Room Glasgow (the first set was complimentary and you can see them in all their neon glory here -link) and I can truly say that I won't be going anywhere else for my nails. Lia is super talented and just a joy to spend an hour or two with not to mention all her services are well priced too. You can see all her funky nail designs, prices and info here - link. I warn you now that getting swoontastic nails is very much like getting a tattoo (without the pain factor) in that you'll get hooked very easily and will plan your next set of nails on the bus journey home if you are anything at all like me!

Excuse me while I go and blast Aqua's I'm a Barbie Girl and prance around like an idiot...

Just so everyone knows where the stand I paid for this set of nails myself but my first set were free for reviewing purposes.

Random Fact - I have had the Barbie curtains used as a backdrop in the above images since 1996...holy smokes!
