MAC Illustrated by Rebecca Moses Brown Face Kit

I'm a woman of convenience, I'd love to be super chic, organised and always on time but that is simply not me - i'm more of a last minute type of gal and love nothing more than an all in one face palette. However multi-purpose face kits can be really hit and miss more so the latter than anything else so when a goo no scratch that great one comes along you bet your sweet buns I'm going to shout about it from the rooftops!

Silently creeping onto the MAC UK website is the new MAC Illustrated by Rebecca Moses which is a collective of kits each prettier than the next. As the Illustrated title would suggest the packaging is of course adorned with images of hand drawn lips and eyes and is both rather striking and a turn is a switch up from the norm black packaging. The Brown Face Kit is presented within a white smallish case that contains all you need to create a full face look - mascara and foundation aside of course but it does include a nifty duo ended brush 275 SE/316 SE.

So what is inside this nifty set up? A peachy blush that is MAC Melba - a personal favourite as it suits almost every complexion, it's matte, goes well with most make-up looks and is well pigmented and formulated for that matter. Next up we have four bronze/neutral hued eyeshadows - Orb a light almost matte yellow tinged cream that makes for a great highlight. It is fairly sheer and does require a little work to build it up to a more pigmented finish. However the other three shades All that Glitters, Smoked Sepia and Showstopper all deliver brilliant colour payoff not to mention they are well sized too. The four shades compliment one and other beautifully and should you have any difficult applying them there is a nifty guide on the back of the outer cardboard packaging to create a bronze smoky eye.

No full face kit can be complete without a lip shade or two an that is just what you get within this palette two choices - a peachy coral in the form of Ravishing and a light nude in Myth. Ravishing is a little deeper than my usual coral offerings and for that reason I find it more suited to night wear. Myth is a light slightly peachy tinged nude shade that may be a tad too stark for deeper complexions but on light to medium skin tones it is the perfect day lip to accompany the powder products within this kit. What I really like about the set up of this palette is that the lip products are protected from powder fall out thanks to a plastic shield.

If you are looking for a neutral suit every occasion palette I think you could do a lot worse than the MAC Illustrated by Rebecca Moses Brown Face Kit. If you are a MAC fan you may be interested in my MAClipstickaday project on Instagram, read more here - link.
