Avon Clearskin Professional Liquid Extraction Strip

Avon Clearskin Professional Liquid Extraction Strip

I use pore strips at least twice a week and at around £7 a box it is a fairly pricey habit so when I saw the Avon Clearskin Professional Liquid Extraction Strip which promised to be a great alternative to your typical pore strips I snapped up a bottle.

My thoughts were that should the Avon Clearskin Professional Liquid Extraction Strip work I would have a flexible pores trip on demand that could help decongest those areas that a typical pore strip is not catered for in size aka my cheeks and chin. The concept behind the Professional Liquid Extraction Strip is that it is applied like a traditional peel off mask and left to dry out. Texture wise it is an extremely thick and gooey concoction that you spread on with your fingers in any area you wish to apply to, leave until it dries out which in my experience is around five minutes and peel off.

To Avon's credit it is easy enough to apply and remove once dry but truth be told removing it was not at all a pleasant experience - it clings on to every little hair on your face and feels like you are ripping them out. Cool if you want a cheap and cheerful threading experience but not so much when all you want to do is de-clog a few pores. Once peeled off there was no shall we call it ahem "residue" aka dirt from your pores to be seen on the strip which takes on a fine skin like substance. Annoying as removing the strip and seeing what you have sucked out your pores is one of the most self satisfying things you can do. The problem is that the extraction strip doesn't really absorb into the pores it tends to just sit on the surface which is bizarre as you would imagine a liquid would be more efficient than doing so but for now I'm afraid I am back to my good old Biore Pore Strips.

Close but not close enough!
