Illamasqua Blush Up Brush

I have lusted over the Illamasqua Blush Up Brush since it launched in February but put off purchasing it for one reason or the other (normally because I was saving up to go away) but the little devil on my shoulder won and last week I gave in and purchased this along with a few other goodies. Whoops.

Luckily I do regret this decision one bit in fact I actually regret not purchasing this sooner as this blush brush has changed not only how I apply my blush and bronzer but the overall shape of may face via the means of make-up and illusion of course! Illamasqua describe the Illamasqua Blush Up Brush as "ellipse" in shape that is a small oval shape to you and I. As you can probably tell from the images that this brush is dense - I mean look at all those tiny hairs packed into this baby complete with a long handle and great weight - not too light, not too heavy.

Of course the concept of this brush is to aid the user in creating a strong defined cheekbone look and the Illamasqua Blush Up Brush has been designed not only to snuggly fit into the natural hollow of the cheekbone but also the Illamasqua duo panned blush palettes. Illamasqua suggest that you suck in your cheekbones and focus your application along the cheekbone blending out as you go along to create killer cheekbones. Yes it does work but I warn you now that due to this brush's density I have found that it does pick up quite a substantial amount of product so do be sure to tap off excess product and perhaps use a light touch to prevent spending a good ten minutes blending out any harsh lines. Personally I have found that it makes contouring a breeze with a bronzer but have yet to be completely sold on using it for blush - I prefer blush on the apples of my cheeks!

A slightly pricey purchase for me yes but anything that makes contouring that little easier gets the thumbs up from me.
