Let's say hello to L'Oreal Nails a Porter by Color Riche which are the first flexible false press on nails to the best of my knowledge. The Nails a Porter line attempts to mimic the effect of a professional gel manicure and being rather picky with my nails - I prefer getting them done professionally as I am so awful at painting and maintaining them for that matter but I can honestly say that this new release rivals that of nail salons.
At this point I have no clear idea of just how many designs will be available within the L'Oreal Nails a Porter by Color Riche range but I am assured there will be a few, you could Google "L'Oreal Nails a Porter by Color Riche" to perhaps see a sneak peek of a few designs that have been reviewed thus far? I have the Neo Couture set which is a funky and modern design of light turquoise and grey stripes.
To apply you simply match the nail size to a sticky adhesive pad which is of course supplied along with a nail file. Unlike past press on nail offerings I have tried out the sticky pads fit seemingly under the nail so that they go undetected and once again they do feel natural/comfortable. L'Oreal have stated that their new adhesives will last up to 5 days and although they do feel more secure than any other false nail I have tried I do feel it will boil down to the individual - some of us are tougher on our nails than others! If you really want them to last a week or so you could always glue them on in the traditional sense.
At £7.99* a pack with various funky and sleek designs L'Oreal Nails a Porter I have a feeling that these little packs of press on nails will fly off the shelves.
* PR Sample sent for consideration of review.

I'm not so keen on the design to be honest, but I like the concept and it sounds like it's a good product. Would love to see what other designs they'll have :o)

I'm not a huge fan of the design you reviewed but after seeing what other designs are out there, I'll think I might try these in the near future. They just look really nice and easy to use too! I'm sure they're just as easy to take off as well, which is perfect for if people work with food and such.
ReplyDeleteThey're quite pricey mind but I guess they're worth it to try out, eh? :)

not a fan of these, they look too fake
ReplyDeleteWow these look really good. I might need to find another design I like and try them out. That colour really suits you though.
ReplyDeleteThe design is amazing! xx

I would've thought L'Oreal could do better.. I mean, really, these are just horrendous - look at how thick they are (are they? At least they seem so)!
ReplyDeleteDo you know what they are now that you have said it, I'm used to acrylic nails etc so I didn't really take it into consideration but yeah they are chunky!
DeleteShame, because I quite like that idea of using a sticky adhesive with them. And the designs are really nice.
DeleteBut I guess just for some one time occasion or whatever (not for regular everyday use), they'd be just fine - I doubt anyone's really inspecting our nails up close IRL as we do here on blogs :))
Very true - I also have quite curved nails too so I wonder if that contributes. I have a spare set so i'll get my sister to pop them on and report back.
DeleteI like the sound of these but to be completely honest I'm not keen on the look of them. I like the design but they look too 'thick', it's quite obvious that they're false (I guess that's ok if you like that kind of look) as they don't appear to sit very flat to the nail bed.

I know what you mean, like I said above I do wonder how much my naturally curved nails are contributing to this effect or if at all. So what I'm going to do is get both my sisters to try them on and report back. If there is a huge difference I'll post photos of them on other hands too :)
DeleteI love the colours of this design. I always manage to lose my acrylics in record time because I'm constantly using my hands to type etc. so maybe this is the way forward?

Hm these do look very thick. I've recently tried the Sally Hansen Nail Effects (from Boots) which claim to last up to 10 days and have been really impressed, they feel like normal nail polish but last much longer! :)
