Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Muse

If you like liquid lipsticks that are both luxurious and long lasting then you simply must try out the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipsticks. Although I'm not the hugest fan of the Hourglass Ambient Powders I will happily decree that the brands liquid lipsticks are worth every penny and definitely a case of believe the hype.

I struggle to fully get on board with both Kevin Aucoin and Hourglass packaging styles, you see when I pay a premium price I expect something a little more fancy smancy than cheap plastic. Admittedly Hourglass do plastic rather well - a deep chocolate brown metallic styling that does add a touch of glamour but to the touch it certainly doesn't feel like a £23 lip product. That aside this applied using a fine foam applicator that has a straight edge unlike a typical doe foot wand allowing for precision.

In total there is 9 shades to choose from which is not an easy task as each is more beautiful than the last. In the end I settled on Muse which is officially described as a "coral red" and I couldn't agree more. This matte almost neon coral tinged red is a shade that demands attention. It is warm with a strong orange undertone and although not an outright dupe it reminds me of MAC Lady Danger somewhat. If you are on the look out for a bold an non-typical red hue this should be next on your hit list it truly is a show stopper.

Liquid lipstick's can be pretty hit and miss as sometimes they are more like a gloss in terms of colour pay off and wear time but the Hourglass formula is jam packed with pigment and certainly outshines 99.9% percent of my lipstick collection in such aspect. It delivers full opaque coverage without having to add several layers of product, one coat, a 30 second dry down period and you are good to go!
This lipstick is certainly matte but not at all drying rather I found it to be the opposite. It will not cling to dry patches on the lips however if you like the colour but not a matter finish this formula works well with a gloss or balm layered on top apply a balm before application or a layer of gloss on top.
In terms of wear this is the product that keeps on giving it stays put even after eating/drinking
for at least 6 hours (Hourglass claim 10) which is when I noticed it fading but as it fades evenly you have an even intense stain. Although I did not experience any form of bleeding or feathering with Hourglasses Muse I do recommend using a lip liner with it none the less - I tend to use MAC Cherry.

As a huge fan of matte lip products it really is only a matter of time until I snap up another few shades as the formula is rather outstanding if I do say so myself.
