Multi-Purpose Products

Hey! I'm Rebecca-Louise from UK Beauty Blog - Autumn Leaveslink, i'll be the first to admit that I've probably got a bit of a spending/beauty addiction and always try to find something to justify my reason to buy something... but one of the reasons that I can never resist is if a product has got more than one purpose. Usually this means I've spotted it on another blog, but sometimes I just discover another use whilst having a play with a product. This post has products that I've pulled together out of my collection that I have/do use for different things.

Multi-Purpose Products

Illamasqua Illuminator in Fondle - This is such a pretty peach-pink with a golden shimmer liquid illuminator, with an applicator that makes it perfect to duo as a lipgloss. Used for it's real purpose, I apply a little on cheekbones, brow bones and above cupid's bow before blending in with a BB cream/tinted moisturiser using fingertips. It's not overly glossy but gives a really soft addition of colour when applied to the lips and dries a little, giving it the longevity of a stain.

ELF Eyelid Primer in Champagne - A frosted beige-brown that can be used underneath shadow to hold it in place all day or alone for a quick drying creme finish. Another use is as an illuminator, perfect for golden skin in all the places the light hits on the face for a flattering glow.

Benefit Erase Paste in 01 Light - Designed as a camouflage/concealer, I've used it as an all over base fully blended out, an eyeshadow base, a scar disguiser and even to smooth out lips before applying lipstick. It's super creamy and easy to work with and serves its' original purpose well to brighten under the eyes.

Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow in Tresbelle - Not all cream blushes are great for lips, but it's my favourite type of multi purpose product at the moment. Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow blushes are absolutely perfect for the lips though, they give a beautiful wash of colour that can be built up, and feel totally comfortable/non-drying. Tresbelle reminds me of summer berries and would suit so many of you!

Laura Mercier Eye Canvas in EC-2 - Created to give you a smooth, creamy base for your eyelids, this little pot doubles up as a lighter coverage concealer, totally suitable for summer months when I find a little concealer is all I need along with a whole load of SPF products.

Vaseline Lip Therapy - Probably the most famous multi use product, I use it on my lips, heels, elbows and cuticles! Apparently it also works on your eyelashes to make them thicker/longer too!

Multi-Purpose Products

Models Own Nail Polish in Snow White - Wear it alone, under a glitter polish or under another polish for a super bright, almost neon colour!

Technic Cheek Tint (a cheaper alternative to Benefit Benetint) - A pink-red stain for a wash of colour on the lips or cheeks, with a brush applicator just like a nail polish! Gorgeous and natural looking finish product on both.

Seche Vite Fast Drying Top Coat - Not only will this help your polish stay chip free for longer, it also prolongs the life of jewellery to prevent that green staining you get with cheaper jewellery!

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette - A matte eyeshadow palette can be used as individual shadows, as a base for other shadows or in my case even used to fill in eyebrows using the shade Naked2.

Superdrug Coconut Oil - Works very much like vaseline, but is a more solid oil perfect for the hair, skin and nails for extra nourishment with such a gorgeous scent!

I often find that products that say that they're for a specific purpose, or claim to have more than one purpose, actually aren't as great as products that have hidden purposes as such. A prime example of this is the Revlon Babystick in Pink Passion, a product I find way too drying on the lips but great on the cheeks. The MUA lipstick trio in Scarlet* doesn't blow me away on the lips but on the cheeks it gives a dewy pop of colour!

Multi-Purpose Products

Ebay Silicone Oven Mitt - Who'd have thought an oven mitt would serve a purpose in the world of beauty? Well it turns out it's a great piece of equipment for make up brush cleaning. Swirl them in water and shampoo for super clean brushes.

Johnsons Baby Shampoo - I still use this on my hair sometimes as it really does give it a good cleanse and have used it when I had a reaction to a product as it's so gentle. But it's also great for washing your make up brushes!

Johnsons Baby Oil - A totally multi purpose oil for skin, hair, nails and even face. I use this for soothing after a day in the sun too!

Dr Bronners Magic Liquid Soap in Baby Mild - Apparently there's 18 uses for this but many I've not tried as they seem crazy (including toothpaste/mouth freshener!) but I've used it to clean my make up brushes, as a cleanser when diluted with water and even as shampoo!
What are your favourite multi-purpose products?Have you used any of these products for anything else?

A big thanks to Adrienne for letting me guest post!
