Sunday Riley Prismasilk Eye Color in Moon Dust

With a site titled The Sunday Girl I do have a slight penchant for products or brands that share the Sunday moniker, having a fairly usual name meant that as a child I could never get anything personalised so now I use that excuse to purchase anything remotely Sunday related. Yes get the tiny violins out and file that under first world problems and feast your eyes on an offering from Sunday Riley, the Prismasilk Eye Color no less.

Honestly not all that sure what to make of the Sunday Riley Prismasilk Eye Color packaging don't get me wrong it is fairly robust and the transparent lid allows you to see the shade that is held within but something about it just screams cheap and cheap it is not at £20 a pop! However as my mother always tells me it is what is inside that counts and fortunately the formula is outstanding.

Cult Beauty currently stock 17 shades of the Sunday Riley Prismasilk Eye Color Eyeshadows which tend to muted and a great brand to investigate if neutral toned eyeshadows are your calling. I currently have the shade Moon Dust which appears to be a stark matte white hue in the pan but once applied it becomes apparent that Moon Dust is in-fact a light silver toned white eyeshadow that is fairly sheer in formula and in certain lights it glimmers almost lilac must like iridescent products do. If you have a cool toned complexion this would make a great highlight or all over wash or colour on golden/warm skin tones it can look a little off.

The whole concept of the Sunday Riley Prismasilk Eye Color Eyeshadows is that the shades are both extremely wearable and that they are long lasting due to the inclusion of silica particles that give the eyeshadow a buttery soft texture and allows it to glide on with ease. Couple that with mica and you have a soft focus formula that allows the eyeshadow to have a soft focus property to blur and disguise fine lines on the eye lids as well as having a luminous quality which I touched on earlier in the review. In my experience the Sunday Riley Prismasilk Eye Colors are better suited to those that want a subtle long wearing eyeshadow as they are not the most pigmented shades out there but they are entirely flattering and with a primer they stay put for 10 hours plus. Although the shade Moon Dust is not for me I have since invested in the shade Camille for a quick everyday wash of colour that I can rely on to look good and wear well regardless of the situation.
