MAC In for a Treat Pearlmatte Face Powder

May has seen a good few MAC collections launch but if prizes were dished out for the prettiest collection of all it would most certainly go to MAC Baking Beauties. If you like cuter than cute pastels and beautifully designed face powders that look like cup cakes you may want to indulge...calorie free at that!
As much as I enjoy pastel shades my skin tone often clashes a little with such pale shades so this time around all I bought was MAC In for a Treat Pearlmatte Face Powder but my goodness is it a show piece!

As many will know MAC Pearlmatte face powders are not a permanent piece of the MAC line up but they do appear at least twice a year and tend to be the show stoppers of any collection they appear in much like MAC In for a Treat. MAC tend to emboss their Pearlmatte powders with various designs and this time around to fit in with the Baking Beauties collection each of the Pearlmatte products have a cake like theme.
MAC In for a Treat features a sweet little floral design that does look like the top of a cup cake...cute.
Other than that the packaging is typical of MAC and in terms of size it is on par with MAC's MSF powders.

MAC In for a Treat Pearlmatte is one of those beautifully presented products that is just a little too beautiful in the pan, so much so that it was painful to use let alone swatch...file that under first world problems.
In for a Treat features two small coral pink flowers, three bright green leaves, a large segment of pale tan and a surrounding edge of white powder. In my opinion all of the little sections are sizable enough to use individually as eyeshadows but not much else Although MAC In for a Treat Pearlmatte Face Powder features segments of colour they are sheer as you can tell from the swatches and when blended together they form a super light pearlescent pastel pink shade that may be pigmented enough for those with extremely pale skin to wear as a blush but for most it will be a highlighting product of some sort.

To the best of my knowledge MAC Pearlmatte face powders are aimed at being a complexion enhancer.
It is not your typical highlighter as such but a soft focus powder that can be used to add a little radiance to targeted areas or used all over the face as a brightening face powder. If like myself you suffer from enlarged pores this is a great option for adding a little luminosity to the skin as the powder is so finely milled it will add a little radiance to the skin without settling into such problematic areas. As mentioned you can use this an all over face powder safe in the knowledge that it won't turn your skin into glitter ball central, what it will do is brighten the skin in a subtle manner  all the while setting any make-up you apply this over. Sadly as I have oily skin I do have to use this after I have set my make-up with a face powder as in my experience MAC Pearlmattes don't help keep oil at bay but they do wear well with around 8 hours when applied at targeted areas (cheekbones etc) and around 6 hours as an all over powder.
