As always I have used my mole as a point of reference so you can see how well the product covers.
I have said countless time I'm over BB, CC and now DD Creams but Clarins have made me change my mind ever so slightly with their BB Cream. Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream may be a little late in joining the party but let me be the first to say it is worth the wait and I seldom rave about non-foundation bases.
The new Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream is currently available in three shades and oddly unlike other BB Creams the Clarins shade selection does run a little deeper than I expected. Truthfully lighter skin tones will struggle with the lightest shade as in my opinion Clarins Light on par with a typical medium shade and is fairly orange based. The orange undertone in Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream does fade somewhat once blended into the skin but like I said I do find the shade selection a little askew. That being said this is a great BB line in terms of shades for those with medium to deep skin tones.
Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream aims to "Revitalise, Protect, Perfect"and does so with a blend of plant extracts and radiance pigments which fuse together to provide a light but effective BB Cream.
Like most BB Creams Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream is fairly thick and more akin to a moisturiser than a foundation. Despite being somewhat thick in texture on the skin it feels light, breathable and is really easy to blend and apply but oily skin types will need to set with a powder or this will slide off after a few hours. In my opinion Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream provides moderate coverage, slightly more than a tinted moisturiser and definitely suffice to cover minor imperfections such as redness and light scarring. One settled on to the skin it gives a natural matte finish which doesn't look mask like or flat.
With the Summer on its way most of us will be on the look out for a great lightweight summer base and for those with medium to a deep skin tone Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream is good option especially with the added SPF25 and the fact that it is mineral oil free. In one quick step it evens out the skin tone with a light radiance boosting effect which does look natural but do set with powder if you have oily skin! If you want combine the best of skincare with foundation you could do a lot worse than Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream.

I am so sick to death of hearing about BB and CC creams, I've never found one that quite works as good as they claim to! This one sounds like it could be a good investment though, although not too sure on the hefty price tag :/

ReplyDeleteYup, the light shade is not light at all. The shades are a little odd x
DeleteI tried the light shade and I looked completely orange!!!
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be the main problem the shades are so off. I'm never the lightest shade in foundation but this shade is almost too dark for me :s
DeleteI received this product as a sample and I LOVE the formula but its far too dark for me :( such a shame!! Xx.
