I've posted countless and I mean countless reviews featuring sleep inducing products from sprays to balms to candles, yup I have pretty much covered them all. Yet the one thing or question if you will that pops up endlessly is that they all sound great but what if you hate the scent of Lavender? Well Badger Certified Organic Sleep Balm is the answer to all that if loathe the powdery notes that come with the lavender fragrance territory this is for you.
Much like any other sleep inducing balm you apply Badger Sleep Balm to the temples and if you so wish the pulse points, allow the heat of your body to melt the balm and release the natural scent of Lavender and Bergamot. Yes it does include Lavender as most sleep or relaxing products do but unlike others the Lavender fragrance is very subtle. As odd as this may sound the general scent of Badger Sleep Balm is almost fruity. That's right fruity...don't ask me how or why but it is neither heavy in the Lavender nor Bergamot notes and is a lovely steep away from the norm.
I'm guessing the most important factor scent aside is if Badger Sleep Balm works? Well yes and no. It does help me to relax and I do rather enjoy massaging the balm into my temples but it won't switch you off like a light but then again what does? If you are looking for something that isn't soaked in Lavender but will help you to wind down naturally then you could do a lot worse and the handy little tin is great for travel which is when I struggle to sleep the most. So no this won't make you sleepy or drowsy for that matter but it will help to relax and calm which is a great addition to any bed time.

Random Fact - The badger is a largely nocturnal, normally shy retiring animal that live in large social groups called a clan.
I would love to try this balm. I especially love relaxing before going to bed with a good book and herb tea and I really love the smell of Lavender. I had never heard of Bath and Unwind before but I'm tempted to try, plus the postage is free for France which is a very good point! :)
ReplyDeleteI think I need this for those nights when I feel too stressed to sleep XX

I can't say i've ever tried this, but I picked up one of their lip balms many years ago on accident instead of a Burts Bees one because the name made me laugh, and I've loved it ever since. That, and who doesn't love a badger?

I got excited at first because I thought this didn't contain lavender at all, then read further and found it did :( I not only hate the smell of lavender but am allergic to it as well and as a periodic insomnia sufferer I'd really like to find a getting to sleep product that doesn't contain it at all

Sounds interesting. Anything that can make me relax gets points. I'll keep an eye for this as it doesn't cost a king's randsom and has fragrances that I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds pretty good! I have been really really tempted to purchase their Headache balm which helps soothe headaches as I've read a few favourable reviews and really wouldn't mind purchasing it x
ReplyDeleteI might have to try this as I go through periods of being completely unable to sleep and will give nearly anything a go x
ReplyDeleteI got one for my mum to try, she's not that fond of lavender, let's hope she'll like it :)
