Brush Cleansing Mitt

I would never dream of telling someone how to spend their hard earned wage packet
but there has been one item that has been doing the beauty rounds that has made me baulk
and that is the vastly over priced Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove - link (so you can see for yourself).
At just over £25 or $39 it's time we called a spade a spade, the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove is nothing but a glorified oven cleaning or dog grooming mitt. I'm sorry Sigma you have a delightful brush range but this fails comprehension.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued, I mean scrubbing your brushes instead of the traditional method so simple yet why had I never thought of this before (because 90% of your thoughts involve food Adrienne you pie!)? Well my friend Linsay at Pandora's Basket went one better she saw the Sigma mitt though good idea but am I heck paying that went on eBay and found an alternative - read her post here, which inspired me to do the same (baaaa yup that's the sound of a sheep).

I went for a slightly different mitt well if you can even call what I have a mitt from Linsay as I have freakishly small hands that wouldn't fit said glove that and silicone makes me sweat (too much information?).
However at their core they both scrub brushes so I'm happy...well sort off.

Now don't get me wrong this method cleanses brushes efficiently and seems to work particularly well with any brush you use foundation with which we all know can be a nightmare to get sparkling clean once more
but I do worry that this process may be too abrasive and shorten my brushes life span?
We have it all drummed into our heads to be gentle and take good care of our brushes yet here I am scrubbing mine...it just doesn't seem or feel right to me.
For that reason I have vowed only to use the scrubbing process on foundation/kabuki brushes and only when I need to as the saying goes "If it ain't broke don't fix it!".

What do you think?
Revolutionary or just another fad?

You can find my scrubbing pad or whatever it is officially called via eBay for £1.28 - link
