Keeping your brows perfectly groomed is all most of us beauty types can think about and admittedly I am late (probably last) to the party. I now truly understand how they can frame your face and open the eyes but for years and I mean years I really couldn't have cared less. Now that I have been shown the light and actually fill my brows in and attend waxing appointment's my weapon of choice is a liquid brow pen.
The newest brow pen to hit the stands is by Barry M which sadly only comes in one shade - dark brown.
By Dark Brown Barry M really mean the deepest of ash browns that almost tinkers on black.
Dark brow is a little too deep for my current hair colouring but will be a great match for anyone who has dark brown to black hair or perhaps enjoys a really dark brow.
The reason I prefer using a liquid brow pen over powder is that if like myself you prefer a natural brow look but have some sparse areas you can draw in the missing hair and fake naturally full brows.
The Barry M Brow Pen is easy to grip due to the chunky style and as the pen has a good solid, defined but pointed nib you can draw the thinnest of lines for a natural look or you can of course turn it onto its side and use it for solid, heavy lines. Please note that the last swatch is to show you the true shade of the ink.
Not only can you use the Barry M Brow Pen for the brows but it doubles up as a liquid eyeliner pen which is my preference given my hair colouring.
What I really like about the Barry M Brow Pen is that once you apply it to the brows it really does stay put, it doesn't bleed like other brow pens and although it doesn't claim to be waterproof it was pretty difficult to remove in the shower which leads me to believe that it will withstand a rain shower.
I guess it will surprise no-one when I say that in terms of wear this looked as good as new for close to 8 hours before a little on skin fading occurred - where the ink was on my skin and not the brow hair but otherwise a brilliant brow budget buy!

Oooh, this is interesting. I'm looking for a brow pen but don't know of many other than the ones by Suqqu which cost a bomb. The colour is really bad though, which pens are your favourites?
ReplyDeleteLooks good, I have dark brown/black hair so I’m going to try :-) Holly xx

It's a shame they don't have more shades, I have dark brown hair but never use dark brown brow products cos they always look too dark! I find that taupe looks more natural :) x
ReplyDeleteNever even thought of buying a pen, I've always had pencil (which never stay put) but will definitely be trying this out! will hopefully get away with the dark colour too. Great review, thank you. xxx

Eak this is far far too dark unless you dig the scouse brow look! x
ReplyDeleteI agree, this looks scary to me! x
DeleteI thought I'd misread the packaging when I spotted this on the Superdrug website - not so keen on the jumbo pen or lack of colours. I much prefer my Soap and Glory version! x
ReplyDeletethis looks good! what brow pen do you normally use? x
