Two years in the making is Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm which has been dubbed by skin care expert Noella Gabriel as “a balm for the senses and a balm for the soul".
Encased within a beautiful but simple jar complete with a luxurious cleansing cloth is Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm.
Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm has apparently been created to be used in conjunction with the Pro Collagen Marine Cream, which is due to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm smells simply divine with which is due to all the British sourced botanical ingredients which are oil based including: starflower, elderberry which has been combined with the ever so fragrant and skin softening and soothing waxes of mimosa and rose flower. It is hard to pin point the scent but if you enjoy botanical scented products (think Liz Earle etc) then you will certainly find this fragrance appealing.
It is clean and uplifting which I enjoy in a cleanser most notably in the morning.
To use you simply smooth over the face and decollete area (I still recommend using a separate eye make-up remover) massaging as you go to help relax the skin which is reportedly one of the best defenses against ageing and let's face it a massage is always a treat!
You have two options you can remove pretty much instantly with the enclosed cleansing cloth or allow the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm to penetrate the skin for up to 10 minutes for a cleansing but soothing mask.
As you most likely come to expect from a product that has been dubbed a balm the texture is pretty thick and slightly waxy in texture initially but once it is warmed with the heat of the skin it turns into a thick and luxurious oil cleanser. It does of course feel a little greasy on the skin as do most oils but Elemis Pro Cleansing Balm does feel slightly more silken than others I have tried in the past.
Truthfully it feels very luxurious and certainly feels more like a treat/spa product than your run of the mill cleanser. Now a word of warning a little does go a long way so do approach with a less is more attitude.
Most importantly Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm does remove every single stitch of make-up including heavy foundation and waterproof formulas...yes I did try it on my eye area which stung like a mother but I can vouch it works. The only criticism I have is that unlike your typical cleanser I do find that you have to pay a little more care when it comes to removing the balm as some residue can be left behind.
Other than that it is a rather wonderful cleansing balm and one I like to use once a week as a little treat.

I love Elemis, it feels great - all their products just feel so good on my skin. I tend to go once or twice a year and treat myself to something new from their range - and then go back to being poor again! this sounds great so I might be looking for this on my next treat purchase....

I love their pro collagen marine cream im definitely going to try this x
ReplyDeleteFabulous Product! Skin never felt so good!!
ReplyDeleteTried it for the first time this evening, I have a small sample pot that comes with their current Elemis promotion, buy two products and get a bag of goodies (travel size products). It smells like rose/lavender in a spa kind of way, it is very rich in texture and greasy, but seems to wipe off ok. My skin is on the oily side so will be interesting to see if this is too much for my skin. Love elemis so always keen to try their new products
