As most will know NARS have launched two limited edition palettes/sets for Spring 2013
one being an eye kit - primer, brush and eyeshadow palette dubbed NARS And God Created Woman which you can read my review of here - link and the other is the NARS Happening Palette.

Unlike the NARS And God Eye Kit this palette is a little larger and although the eyeshadow pans are just as small (you can still easily fit a brush in each pan) the blush and bronzer pans are a little better sized than say the NARS Foreplay Palette  and are a great travel/try me size.
Being NARS The Happening Palette does of course come presented within a rubberised black case which does look sleek but let me tell you it is the devil when it comes to collecting dirt and fingerprints!
That aside inside their is a sizable mirror which only strengthens that this palette is a must have for travelling.

So what is actually inside the Happening Palette?
Well you get four well picked and co-ordinated shades that do lean fairly neutral but thanks to the addition of  Kuala Lumpur you do have a little pop of colour. Sitting prettily alongside the eyeshadows is two of NARS most famous face powders: one blush - the ever famous and best selling Orgasm and one bronzer - again the top selling shade that is Laguna.

Orgasm - Unlike other NARS palettes which claim to contain Orgasm (case and note the Fourplay Palette)this really does and is true to the original shade. A great pinky coral shade that has a yellow undertone and subtle shimmer which brightens the skin as well as having a brightening property.
Pretty much a suit all shade that is beautifully pigmented and well formulated.

Laguna-  Although I do prefer Casino when it comes to NARS bronzers I can't really fault Laguna.
It is a olive based matte bronzer that offers great colour pay off and looks very natural on most light to medium skin tones. As it is matte you can use this shade to contour as well as warming the skin tone.

Night Star- This in my opinion is the highlight shade out of the quad and is best described as a golden beige which is tinged with a hefty dose of golden glitter. I did find that this shade produced quite an abundance of fall out but otherwise is a nice enough shade.

Gstaad- This shade is a limited edition and exclusive to this palette. I would describe this as a metallic golden sand that is tinged with a slight green undertone. I guess some would deem this as a taupe shade, either way it is rather fabulous both in colour pay off and tone.

Kuala Lumpur- A light but shimmer based purple come berry shade, the only shade in the palette I won't use but that is simply personal preference. No problem with pigment but the shimmer/glitter can be a little frustrating to work with as it does have a tendency to go everywhere.

Coconut Grove- Matte flat darkest brown which annoyingly features in the And God Created Woman palette too. That aside it is a good basic shade that blends well and is loaded with pigment.

Summed up NARS The Happening Palette is a great everyday and travel companion option, it offers a great range of eyeshadow shades that yes are fairly neutral but allow you to create an abundance of looks - day and night. The two face powders have been selected to suit most complexions but admittedly I do think they may be a little too light for deeper skin tones. In my opinion if you are looking for a good all round palette that offers a little of everything with well pigmented and formulated shades you could do a lot worse than The Happening palette. For me this is my new travel buddy and will be the only palette I take away with me on my jaunts abroad!

P.S this was swatched on my friends arm not my own hence the different skin tone, I broke out in a rash after a little product mishap and she graciously allowed me to use her like as my guinea pig haha!
