NARS And God Created Woman Eye Kit - Review

For Spring 2013 NARS have launched two limited edition palettes one such being the NARS And God Created Woman Eye Kit which really is a neutral lovers dream.
Unlike most NARS palettes this not only features six beautifully picked eyeshadows but a brush and primer too!

I will admit that the size of the NARS And God Created Woman Eye Kit shocked me, it is pretty tiny and not much larger in size than the likes of a credit/debit card and yes it does feature the typical NARS rubberized packaging. Fingerprint galore! However the included shader brush and primer although travels sized are fairly generously proportioned with 2.8g in the primer alone.
Fingerprints aside the palette is great for traveling on popping into your handbag for everyday use as it is so light and small.

As mentioned there are six shades inside which are pretty small in size but generous enough to use with most eyeshadow brushes:

Alhambra - Metallic sand shade that does have a slight pink tone.
Bellisima - Matte taupe that is cool and tone with grey leanings.
Kalahari - A pale but bright copper shade that is warm in tone with a slight red leaning.
Galapagos - Deep chocolate brown with gold glitter.
Coconut Grove - Matte flat darkest brown.
Night Clubbing - Black matte base with golden olive glitter/shimmer, a really complex shade that looks/works best when foiled (applied using a damp brush).

In the past NARS palettes have been a little hit and miss, mainly misses when it comes to face palettes but on this occasion NARS have really struck gold - all six eyeshadows are well pigmented, with only the matte shades requiring a little work to blend out. Okay there was a few niggles such as the two glitter shades producing fall out but that is to be expected and of applied too heavily the matte shades can be a little ashen
but on the whole they get a big thumbs up from me. The palette offers a great variety of shades that will see you through both day and night occasions with ease and the primer is truly wonderful, one of the best I have used. It boosts the shadow intensity as well as their lasting power, the brush is the one item I could take or leave. Yes it is well made but it is not one I would personally use but hey come an emergency I bet i'd be grateful for it!

If you love a little neutral shade or two (and who doesn't) then I really do recommend picking up this nifty little kit.

  5. I really like it, or at least I want to, but the price is certainly a put off for me, im not against spending money on make up but at that price id rather get one of the Urban Decay pallets, as Mademoiselle Lala had suggested.
