Recently Maybelline have been rather on the ball and hitting us left, right and center with new collections
so much so that I'm finding it a little difficult to keep up!
One of the new lines to fill the Maybelline stands is their Super Stay 14 Hour Lipsticks - a range of beautiful shades that promise to be long lasting. Being the curious critter that I am I of course had to pick up one shade to try out for myself.

The new Maybelline Super Stay 14 Hour Lipsticks are presented rather oddly but in a nice way not in a "what the heck is this", in my opinion the white and transparent packaging appears more lip gloss like rather than a lipstick but like I said it is a nice change from the norm.
Aesthetics aside which are admittedly on the ball from Maybelline, the lipstick in secure within the tube and
although pretty flimsy plastic I don't think you run any risk of damaging the product with general daily wear and tare.

I'm not too sure just how many shades are available within the Maybelline Super Stay 14 Hour Lipstick line but Superdrug online stock eleven shades as do Boots so I'm guessing that is the extend of the shade range? Either way eleven shades is more than suffice and from what I have seen you will have trouble picking just one lipstick as they are all rather irresistible, in the end I went for what I know best...a bright coral.
Maybelline Super Stay 14 Hour Lipstick in Stay with Me Coral is not your typical bright orange based coral this leans more pink almost red than it does orange and reminds me a lot of MAC's Party Parrot.
Maybelline Super Stay 14 Hour Lipstick in Stay with Me Coral is a yellow based bright pink that leans fairly yellow in terms of undertone so most should be wearable by most and let's face it who doesn't love a cheaper dupe?

The texture of the Maybelline Super Stay 14 Hour Lipsticks is pretty complex, when you first apply it glides on akin to gel based lipstick but after a few minutes of wear it takes on a slightly sticky texture and then settles to a semi-matte finish. Although momentarily sticky at no point does the lipstick feel uncomfortable despite offering full opaque coverage and a long lasting wear time.
Speaking of wear time this formula does of course fall short of the 14 hour claim but I think it be a little naive to buy into such promises, I have found that typically this shade wears for close to six hours and will falter a little when it comes to eating and drinking. When it does fade it does so evenly and normally wears down to a stain which when all things are considered it is pretty good going for a £6.99 lipstick.
