MAC Party Parrot first launched as part of the Iris Apfel collection last January and I completely over looked it and the other bright shade - Pink Pigeon in favour of the bright coral shade that was Flamingo.
Next thing the two brights began popping up on blogs, I fell in love and wouldn't you know it they were sold out everywhere and I have been kicking myself since.
Fast forward a little over a year later and much to be utter joy both shades have been re-promoted and you best believe I was one of the first in the UK to click that order button!

MAC Party Parrot is matte in finish and listed on the MAC website as a bright red-pink and for once I don't disagree.
Party Parrot is an almost neon red based pink that can lean more red in some lights and more pink in others
but it most certainly more pink than red overall...if that at all makes any sense?
Party Parrot despite being a matte lipstick is not overly drying but some may prefer a quick slick of lip balm before application as it does have a tendency to cling to dry areas.
I find it  does provide full opaque coverage but isn't truly matte as it has a light sheen almost gloss finish
sadly due to this element it is not quite as long wearing as a typical matte lipstick and tends to wear on my lips for around three hours but that aside let's face it is a beautiful shade!

I hope this shade and Pink Pigeon follows in Candy Yum Yum's footsteps and becomes part of the permanent collection at some point as MAC could really do with adding some more bright shades to their core collection.

MAC Party Parrot Lipstick has now sold out online via MAC (it was gone within a day of launch) but it could still launch via Selfridges and Debenhams as they tend to be a little behind and you can always check out your local counter...good luck!
