The UK weather is less than pleasant at the moment, chilly whipping winds with a combination
of freezing cold rain, sleet, snow and a combination of all three.
Like most beauty bloggers I have an arsenal of skincare ready to battle anything the elements care
to send my way...gosh us Brits sure like to complain about the weather don't we?

Now i'm not the biggest fan of scrubs in general and tend to use a face mask to rid me of dead skin once a week. However the cold air seems to encourage my skin to tighten and dry up so I have been busting out a facial scrub on an every second day basis to promote brighter and softer skin.
At the moment my scrub of choice is Dr.Nick Lowe's Cooling Menthol Facial Scrub which gently buffs off any dry and dead skin cells with a cooling sensation coupled with a fresh almost minty scent.

Having oil skin more often means I am forever on the look out for moisturisers with a light formula
but for the last week I have had to step up my game a little, to protect my skin from the bitter cold.
To prevent it shriveling up and drying out like an out of date prune I have been slathering on REN's Ultra Moisture Day Cream with gay abandon.
If like myself you have oily or combination skin don't instantly write off "ultra or instant" statements,
when harsh weather conditions come a knocking even oily skin needs a little boost and this lightly textured yet highly nourishing and hydrating cream does just that without rendering my skin catatonic!
For normal to dry skin types this is quite the treat particularly those with drier skin.

To lock in moisture I am relying on Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil once more,
not only is this a great moisture boost but it also helps to balance oily skin not to mention it is packed
full of natural oils that help prevent and fight blemishes!
Don't worry if your skin is not oily Clarins have an skin oil for every skin type.

Every winter requires a good balm or two, I know Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream is not for everyone
but for me there is not better high performance lip balm and I have been known to slick a little on
my nose when the sniffles leave it red raw.
For everything else including chapped skin and chilblains you really can not go wrong with a tube of La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5, this thick lotion is your secret weapon against all the wrong doings
the cold snap has inflicted upon your weary body and so much more.
