Another new launch from Barry M is their line of Textured Nail Paints which much like the new waterproof eyeliners will hit the shelves on February 13th for Superdrug, February 20th for Boots and will also launch via barrym.com on February 13th .
The Barry M Textured Nail Paints will be available in four shades which are pretty similar to preexisting Barry M Nail Paints minus the gritty texture finish. Each shade has been named after famous haunts where Mr Barry Mero began his early working days in the markets of Ridley Road and Brixton: Ridley Road (Green), Kingsland Road (Pink/Peach), Station Road (Yellow), Atlantic Road (Blue).
Textured nail polishes are the way forward this year with countless brands launching various textured finishes from leather to gritty grungy textures much like the Barry M Textured Nail Paints.
The Barry M Textured Nail Paints do dry matte and have a fine gritty finish almost like colourful sand on your nails, the texture is achieved by tiny glitter particles in the polish which is most apparent in the yellow shade - Station Road.
Due to the sweet pastel shade range they almost have a fluffy, candyfloss appeal
and don't seem as "hard" as the deep grit based shades from brands such as Nails Inc.
On the nails the polish does feel rough but there is a certain appeal to such texture,
to me it reminds me a little of when you go to bed with wet nails and wake up with the texture that your sheets have imprinted on your nails only in a less messy way.
Sure they are not for everyone but I think we can all agree the shades are beautiful none the less,
especially the milky pinky peach tone of Kingsland Road.
However they are a little watery in texture and do require at least three coats for the effect I have achieved
in my photos.

Barry M Textured Nail Paints* will be £3.99 each upon launch.

They are pretty colours but I just can't get my head around the whole textures trend, I prefer my nails to look and be glossy, so I dont think this is one for me. :)
ReplyDeleteArghhhh don't think I am really warming to these effects, lovely colours though! X
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be purchasing these, they're lovely.. The 13th of February just seems so far away!

I'm curious to try this textured effect but didn't work to fork out for the expensive alternatives... Barry m to the rescue. Hehe ;) xx
ReplyDeleteI needed to click on this post because i LOVE Barry M Nail Paints, and everything look good until i saw the photo. I was just about to say that it reminded me of when you go to bed with wet nails and you get he annoying 'bed sheet print' on your nails.... then i read the bottom bit and you said exactly the same. I agree that the colour are beautiful though.

These intrigue me, I wonder if they're as hellish as glittler to remove? Beaut colours though!
ReplyDeleteI actually love the look of these. May have to try them. x
