Two quick reviews today for you on what most will deem a daily essential - eye make-up removers!
For as long as I have worn make-up I have always used a separate eye make-up remover,
from an early age my mum has always emphasised just how important it is to look after the delicate
skin of the eye area to prevent premature ageing and to always use an eye make-up remover.
When I was younger I relied an eye make-up remover by Garnier, then I dabbled with Lancome for a good few years before finding one I adore by Sisley but with a £69 price tag it wasn't all that ideal
so I have moved on to Clarins which is a brand I trust with my skin like no other.
I have been testing out two different eye make-up removers by Clarins: Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover which has been formulated for sensitive eyes, is non-oily and easily removes non-waterproof mascara
and light eye make-up. By that I mean it will remove most typical eye make-up but is not one for heavy,
party/going out at the weekend make-up and it's not all that ideal for waterproof formulas.
The other version I have been testing is Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover which is a bi-phase formula,
slightly oily and makes light work of removing any eye make-up even the toughest wearing waterproof formulas.
To use both formulas I apply a small amount to a cotton pad and gently press it on to my eye lid for a few moments before using swiping movements to remove the make-up.
Personally I find the Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover more than sufficient for my typical eye make-up
as I don't wear waterproof mascara and really enjoy how gentle the formula is to the eyes.
However if you are a fan of heavy and/or waterproof eye make-up you need Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover as it really does make light work of removing even the most stubborn eye liners!

When I first tried Clarins I loved it but I found that it was breaking me out so now I avoid it. It's such a shame because I really enjoyed using all of the products! They do some great things, in particular the one step cleanse. x
ReplyDeleteI always seem to come back to my Neutrogena makeup wipes. They are so gentle.
ReplyDeleteI love your reviews about clarins! got to try out the new collection!

I always use a bi-phase product to remove my eye makeup. I feel it's easier to take off all the mascara and liners without damaging the skin and my lashes...
ReplyDeleteI'm now starting L'Oreal bi-phase, but maybe I'll give this one a try :)
As a confessed Clarins-a-holic (and I refuse to stray elsewhere now) I totally agree with your review - I have both eye make up removers and use them both for different make up - gentle for day instant for night. I am rather naughty though as I will use make up remover wipes to get the majority off before using cleanser and eye make up remover (which is also a relatively new concept lol)
