I am on the quest for the perfect BB Cream for my skin type and tone,
many have come close but let me down with a minor niggle here and there
but today I have one of the best BB Cream's I have encountered thus far,
okay it may not be my new holy grail but for others I feel this may be "The One"!
Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream comes presented within a typical squeeze style
bottle which is typical for many foundations, what sets it apart is the fact it is the packaging is green
and in my opinion has more of an Eastern BB Cream feel from the get go opposed to those
we have seen in the UK as of late.
I have no issues with the packaging it dispenses the product nicely and hasn't present any problems,
I guess if I was to nit pick I could say that with a squeeze style tube you are often left with excess
product stuck to the walls of the tube but then again you can always snip the top off and scoop
out any remains.
The Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream comes in one shade which is deemed a suit all shade,
I do have to disagree and say that it is fairly light with a grey/sallow tone.
As far as universal BB Creams go it is not the lightest universal shade by any means
but it will look ashen and plain odd on any skin tone deeper than the MAC NC/NW30-35 mark.
Like most decent BB Creams this promises to moisturise and nourish the skin, the nourishment
part is debatable but it certain does add a little moisture but not so much that my oily skin goes crazy!
It also aims to brighten and even the skin tone which is completely true, it covers so well almost
like a full coverage foundation but without feeling heavy or uncomfortable on the skin,
it does also have a slight brightening effect but as it is an Asian BB Cream it does also have a slight
whitening effect which some may not be a fan of.
The final touch is an SPF 30 which protects against harmful UV rays.
The formula is thick yet easily applied and absorbed by the skin,
it does not clog, cake nor feel uncomfortable on the skin nor does it highlight any skin imperfections
such as enlarged pores, fine lines or dry areas of the face.
It easily covers any blemishes, scars etc without masking the skin or the need for a separate concealer.
One thing I do feel I should point out is that it does have a floral scent that some may
I do feel for best wear this should be set with a finishing powder of some sort with it I can easily
see 8 hours of wear before I need to touch up some areas.

I'm loving the amount of BB Creams coming out now! So many to chose from, but this one does look great :)
ReplyDeleteI agree some complain the BB market has been over saturated but until there is one that truly is a wonder product I saw bring it on :)
DeleteI'm loving L'Oreal's BB cream but this one looks like another one that's worth a try. I love that it has such a high spf!

This is easily still the best I've tried so far. I still like to try others but I will be coming back to this one :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you find your perfect one :)

I actually haven't liked any of the BB creams I've tried so far. They definitely don't live up to the hype and I don't really see the point in them....BUT, that said, I have not given up on them and am eager to find one worth spending my pennies on. If one can really live up to the claims they make then I will be one impressed lady, so I will be interested to give this one a try.

I'm totally with you on that, I shall keep searching too :)
DeleteBB creams need to wait a couple of minutes to set and the shade changes a little. The gray undertone usually disappears after that and suits your skintone. But you have to wait a little before setting with your powder, otherwise you will set this greyish shade...
ReplyDeleteI agree there are not many shades for tan people, as asian woman prefer to whiten their skin, but there are some.
I agree 100% this one is lovely but even after it adapts it is rather grey on my skin tone but come winter I bet I love it even more!
DeleteThis has been on my wish list for months, may actually have to get it at some point. Hoping it will be my 5 minute face when dashing my little one to nursery.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a dream for occasions like that :)
DeleteI have been trying to buy this for ages but cannot find it anywhere in scotland/UK :(
